    Jean

    Asked on June 15th, 2025

Where do i meet the tour guide at the start of the tour, and where exactly does the tour end? Also, I plan to stay in Canada for 1 semester of studies so my luggage will likely be quite large (around 28 inches, hard case). Is it ok to bring my luggage along? Or should I leave it at a hotel and bring along a camping/hiking bag instead?

    Tour Details
    Transport
    • Intrepid TravelOperatorWritten June 2025

Your tour will begin and end at the same location: HI Vancouver Downtown, 1114 Burnaby Street, Vancouver. We recommend bringing only one medium-sized bag, backpack or suitcase (20kg/44lb max) per person. Large suitcases like your 28-inch hard case are not advised and may not be allowed, so consider storing it at a hotel and bringing a more compact camping/hiking bag instead.

      Jean

      TravelerWritten June 2025

Can I know if the trip is a guaranteed departure? Or is there a minimum number of participants needed to confirm departure? Can I know if there are shower/bathroom facilities at the campsite? Will there be access to wifi at the campsites and on the van? Are there any hotels/hostels, preferably 3-stars, near the pickup and drop-off locations that you could recommended to me? Also are there any other promotions/discounts for this trip I can apply, or any student sales I can use to get this trip at a lower price?

    • Intrepid TravelOperatorWritten June 2025

This trip is guaranteed with a minimum of just 1 passenger, so even if you're the only one booked, the trip will still go ahead as planned. Campsite facilities include toilets and, in most cases, showers. Some locations may charge a small fee (around USD $1–$3) for using the showers. Some North American campsites do offer Wi-Fi, and most hotels have it as well. Currently, we don't have any additional promotions or student discounts available for this departure.

That is correct, the first nights accommodation will be at HI Vancouver Downtown.

What is different between this Real Canadian Rockies 14 to 26 Sep 2025 13 days and The Canadian Rockies from 14 to 28 September 2025 15 days. Both operated by Interpid. Of course, I understand that the price 13 days is cheaper. How about the travel rule? I am just wondering are there any differences before I decide it.

    Age Range
    Tour Details
    • Intrepid TravelOperatorWritten January 2025

The main difference between our "Real Canadian Rockies" and "Canadian Rockies" trips lies in the age requirements and the activities included. The "Real Canadian Rockies" trip is specifically designed for travelers aged between 18 and 35, while the "Canadian Rockies" trip is open to anyone aged 15 and above. Additionally, the "Canadian Rockies" trip includes more activities compared to the "Real Canadian Rockies" trip, providing a broader range of experiences for all ages.

    Asked on December 12th, 2024

My husband and I are hoping to visit Canada and Alaska, also open to Yellowstone and/or other locations on a tour, departing mid/late April 2025. We can travel between the 18.04.25 - 25.05.25, hoping for 3-4 weeks depending on costs (minimum 2 weeks). We have a number of Qantas points and credits that could be used for flights. Our budget is approximately $10 000. Email is preferable to phone calls, please.

    Tour Details
    Travel Support
    • Intrepid TravelOperatorWritten December 2024

During the month of April and May it is the start of our Spring season so it is quiet rainy and weather is very unpredictable (one year there was an ice storm in April..). Due to this we typically don't have any of our Canadian, Alaska, or Yellowstone trips running until June onward. If you are interested in the US I would recommend the California, Nevada, Utah, and Arizona areas as it is much drier and better weather overall. Let us know if any of the national parks out there peak your interest and we could send some recommendations over. For Canada during April it would just be Newfoundland.
