What do you mean by self guided tour?

We provide travel documentation and assistance through out your journey This, being one of our self guided trips, the tour guide will not take part.

Is it possible to request for a single room for this tour?

We can provide SINGLE rooming option in 3 or 4 Star hotels. The price set in this web site is set for HOSTEL accommodation which will not include private rooming, only shared accommodation at dormitories.

Great freedom and flexibility which is the perfect way to explore Hakone. The accommodation was very close to the sites, was comfortable, and the staff were really helpful and friendly. We basically got a pass from bamba that allowed us to explore all sites around Hakone. Between our friends, people we met while in Tokyo, the hotel reception and bamba recommendations we had plenty to do and visit. This is a self-guided trip, so if you want to be able to do what you want when you want then this is the product for you. We did not have the luxury of time to shop around and try to figure out what entrances to by and which sites to see. The pass included in this itinerary was exactly what we needed. I felt the trip was of great value, there are definitely better, much more expensive hotels, and like everywhere people trying to sell you experiences on the cheap.Show more

Always wanted to visit Mount Fuji when visiting Japan. Unfortunately, the weather was not great when we go there so we only got to see the mountain for a couple of hours. Very happy with the accommodation that was provided. The breakfast was decent, but to be honest, we have not had an amazing breakfast the whole time we were in Japan. That being said the food is amazing for lunch and dinner :-) We got an all-access pass to visit the sites which were super convenient. We were in and out of Hakone coming from Tokyo, so if you are pressed for time definitely recommend this.Show more

The team at Bamba Exerience was very helpful - they even took time on their day off to meet up with me to ensure I had my tickets. I was staying in an airbnb and they could not be delivered there so we had to meet up. The staff was very helpful but I wouldn't recommend the 'tour'. It was very expensive for what you are getting and it can be done much cheaper. They basically arrange a pass for you that gets you access to all transportation and sights in the area. You can buy this pass by yourself for just over 5,000 yen. The accommodations they normally arrange were not available so we paid an extra 215$ to upgrade to a hotel however this hotel was terrible. It was 2.5 or maybe 3 stars but we didn't even have a bathroom in our room. The breakfast was absolutely horrible - just 4 types of bread, coffee and apple juice. The pillows were very uncomfortable and staff were not helpful as we couldn't even be given our room an hour early - despite it being ready and him having the key at the front desk. TLDR: Hakone is an amazing place to visit but you don't need to book a tour - find better accommodations for cheaper and without anything being organized for you besides an all access pass you have to do just as much work anyhow. Before offering the upgrade we checked online for reviews and comments but no one mentioned any of this. Should be something like this: We're sorry for any undue stress.
