  Too few meals, except the included hotel breakfasts. Trafalgar constantly pushed costly Optional Tours. Randy Fay, travel advisor for GET(owned by Trafalgar) was the worst advisor by far that we have ever used. He knew nothing about Egypt. He never returned telephone calls, and could NOT answer questions about our registration problems. I spoke 2 months later with Daniel Pelletier, another agent, who immediately recognized the problem, and corrected it. Daniel has 7 years in the business at Trafalgar. Randy Fay greatly overcharged us for 3 additional night stays in Cairo!! The average nightly charge for Priceline and at least 2 others was $117.00 per night. Fay charged us over $211.00 per night. We did take one optional tour to Alexandria for $132.00 per person. We rode in a van for almost 7 hours for about a 2 hour tour of sites in Alexandria. We had NOTHING to eat all day. Trafalgar did NOT include any meal for the trip. The travel guide for the trip had a heavy accent, and I understood about one out of 3 words. 3 days of the tour, nothing was scheduled. On one of the days, if you did not book the Abu Simbel tour for $342/ person, there was absolutely nothing to do except wait on a delayed flight from Aswan to Cairo! My advice is to avoid Trafalgar like the plague. This was our first tour-based trip. I have since found out that there are a number of other companies who give you a good trip for the money with many more included meals, do NOT constantly push expensive optional tours, and even cost less. Do a lot of research. Delete Trafalgar.Show more

  A truly amazing, once in a life time, experience. The itinerary included all the major archeological sites in Egypt, covering history going back to the first pyramid built more than 4700 years ago. Our tour guide kept us busy, and was extremely knowledgeable and patient with our group. We had “free time” at all of the major sites we visited. We always felt very safe our entire time in Egypt. My advice to others considering this trip is that there is not so much walking, but sometimes a lot of uneven steps. Some of the less mobile people accompanying us opted to view some sites from the bus. The other thing to keep in mind is the ship for the Nile river cruise was pretty old and could have been a little cleaner. We heard mixed reviews from others on some of the optional experiences. We traveled to Abu Simbel and greatly enjoyed it. In summary, an amazing vacation!Show more
