  The 1st day was Cape Point, Hout Bay and the Penguins at Boulder Beach. Our guide was Dylan. It was an excellent day. The next part of the tour was the 5 day garden route with guide Issac. With the exception of the Bungee Jumping and Zip Lining on day 2 all we did was drive with very few activities. It really was pretty awful. We selected the comfort package for accommodations and couldn’t even enjoy the stays. It cost us about $1000 to upgrade and when I looked up the cost of the accommodations all of them only added up to a total of $600 if I booked myself. Almost no activities and no meals at all were included. It was really disappointing. The 7th day was spent doing a wine tour with TK, that was really fun and we were offered a lot of wine, cheese. Chocolate, a train ride and a nice stop for eating and shopping.Show more

It is disappointing to hear that the pace and long travel distances of the 5-day Garden Route portion did not match your expectations. The Garden Route covers a vast area, and reaching destinations such as Addo Elephant National Park and the other highlights visited requires long touring days. We conducted an investigation with our senior management team and tour guide, including reviewing satellite tracking data for the tour vehicle, and based on our findings, the tour operated within the itinerary guidelines and daily activities listed. Your comments did, however, highlight the need for clearer communication around daily travel times. While the itinerary notes that approximate daily drive times exclude hotel pickups, transfers, stops, and game drives, we understand this may not have been clear enough within the daily itinerary notes themselves. We will therefore update the wording to “tour drive time” to better distinguish it as tour travel duration (excluding pickups/drop offs and activity times), while also adding daily departure and estimated accommodation arrival times. We are also excited to soon introduce a central Cape Town tour meeting point option for guests who prefer to avoid extended hotel pickup routes and morning traffic before the tour officially departs. On a side note, while accommodation upgrades do enhance the overnight stay experience itself, all guests on the group tour still follow the same communal touring schedule. Due to the distances covered during the Garden Route portion, tours often arrive later in the day and depart early the following morning. Thank you again for your constructive feedback.   Everything went smoothly on this trip. All the landmarks and activities met expectations. My favourite part was seeing all the animals at Botlierskop Game Reserve BEFORE visiting the Addo Safari, so I didn't have to feel like I was "missing out" given the density of animals at Addo was lower. The overnight stay at Addo Wildlife Ranch was my favourite accommodation of the whole trip! One area of improvement could be the safari ride at Addo. It would have been better to tour the area in an open-air truck/jeep instead of our usual transport van. But I understand logistical and cost constraints.Show more

  I can't imagine how anyone could enjoy this trip and give it 5 stars. I would only recommend this way of traveling to totally passive people who don't mind driving for hours without the opportunity to get out and look. What's the point of driving 500 km there and 500 km back to Addo NP just for the 2 hours we spent driving through the park and leaving it. We could have had such an experience with a big five anywhere closer to Cape Town and instead of 1000 km sitting in the car for 10 hours to experience, walk, just enjoy and see the landscape. The stupidest itinerary I've ever experienced. If you are a fan of traveling by car, then this is the trip for you. If you would like to at least walk a little through the beautiful landscape you are driving through, then look for another company.Show more

  We loved this tour! Got to see so many different aspects of South Africa from Safari animals to wineries to stunning nature and landscapes to coastline to Cape Town. It was a very Diverse itinerary, the hotels and restaurants are of high quality and we tried lots of new food such as the "safari platter". We were a group of 6 so it was nice and efficient and our tour guide was a gentlemen called Isaac, he was very charming and full of useful information about SA and he was great to chat with on the long drives! My wife and I did this tour as part of our honeymoon and it was definitly a memorable and special trip for us. Highly recommend!!Show more

  The tour was amazing!! My tour was split into a 5 day garden tour and then 2 separate tours based out of Capetown. The 5 day tour was amazing and our guide Denver kept everyone entertained and engaged. I was traveling.alone and the balance of the group was 1/2 my age and I felt nothing but included. Denver was so informative about South Africa and made sure all our needs were met. The last 2 tours of wine tasting and Cape Bay were also great.Show more
