About me:Before I became a guide with Hotspots2c I spent many years training tour guides, so it’s safe to say that I LOVE the travel industry. I love being on the road and getting to see all that our beautiful country has to offer. While I am a scuba-diving enthusiast, I also love South Africa’s Kruger National Park and all it has to offer, we really do have something special in this country. Internationally, I’d have to say that Singapore is a firm favourite.

Very attentive to our needs. Our full packed tour went well because of his good planning with schedules. We saw lots of animals and beautiful places. The long drive was a breeze because of his nice narration of places and animals. We felt sad ending the tour that we all gave him a hug. Gerhard, if you are reading this, thanks so much. The group was small and I met amazing people. Was traveling solo this time, but it was a great experience at each part of the journey. Would highly recommend it to anyone traveling to SA. Just be prepared for a long drive, as you are covering so much!

The tastings at the different wine farms were interesting and we also had time to explore each farm a little bit. There was no hurry and we could take our time and even for lunch we had more than enough time. A cellar tour or something similar would have been another great experience but of course this even needs more time..
The order of the farms was not as planned but that was not an issue for us, we still enjoyed the tastings! All in all it was a great day and we had a lot of fun on the tour, some great wine and a lovely experience. Thank you Hotspots2c!!

Apparently if there was only one person taking the tour they would still go with it, which was perfect for us, it felt like a private tour. Gerhard, our tour guide, was very helpful and knowlegeable of the vast history of this country. The places that we went to was beautiful and the places that we stayed in was perfect. All in all we are very satisfied with the tour, and most of all our guide Gerhard.
We had an excellent trip! Adventurous, impressive and with a lot of different things to see and to experience. My husband and I took this tour because a friend recommended it and we were so happy we did. It covered so many beautiful places along the Garden Route. We opted for the 4 star B&B stay though we were…My husband and I took this tour because a friend recommended it and we were so happy we did. It covered so many beautiful places along the Garden Route. We opted for the 4 star B&B stay though we were debating the 3 star v 4 star. The company recommended 4 star because of a night at Buffelsdrift. Well, we didn't know what any of this meant but we took their advice and were so happy! Our accommodations each night were incredible, to say the least. We slept so well and felt like each day was its own mini-vacation in a new part of the country at a new, adorable B&B. And Buffelsdrift was out of this world awesome. It was the best night of our entire 2.5 week trip to South Africa. The tent we stayed in was gorgeous - nicer than the tents we stayed in at our 5 day safari a week later! We saw tons of animals come right to our front door!
But, back to Gerhard. He made our trip perfect. He went out of his way to make us comfortable and happy all day, every day. He made reservations for us, drove us to special places/restaurants, and stopped whenever we wanted to see something along the way. Though we paid for the extra safari drive at Addo, our drive through afterward with Gerhard in the van was EVEN BETTER! I know it doesn't make sense that seeing animals from a van could be better than seeing animals from a safari truck but it was better because Gerhard made it so much fun. We went what felt like everywhere in the park with him and saw so many animals. He helped us take pictures and get close to so many great animals.
Overall, we'd highly recommend this tour to anyone traveling - as long as you understand it's ideally designed for a younger crowd of backpackers (at least our van was) but we found the value was incredible, the sites were selected perfectly, the accommodations couldn't have been better, and Gerhard made it extra special. Thank you Gerhard!!

He was also extremely friendly and knowledgeable and handled any and all hurdles in an excellent manor, such as making sure everyone was adequately entertained when all the planned activities were cancelled last minute, going as far as to drive people about to different places just to make things that much better. Couldn't have asked for a better trip

We travelled enormous distances on a daily basis to be able to witness so many incredible sights and diversity from desert scenery in little karoo and Addo elephant park with a vast array of wild animals along with the lush garden route and the prestigious and historic vineyards with delicious tastings en route.
Accommodation was exceptional every evening and all our meals were delicious and excellent value chosen by ourselves giving everyone their own particular dietary favourites.
Our tour guide Gerhald or Gerry we called him made this trip a 6 star experience and his historical knowledge and wild animal sighting ability with immense humour and ability to answer questions on so many different queries from his quests was done respectively and interesting an amazing ability and a huge tribute to Hotspots2c and their fortunate clients.
Please give this tour serious consideration, promise you will be enlightened and invigorated at what you witness and hopefully share the experience with the others on the same trip that end up not only other quests but long term friends and acquaintances! maybe we were lucky but very fortunate with the whole overall experience.
Very professional company and Tammy at Hotspots2c was outstanding in every way from booking requirements to updating changes in itinerary and pick up times and always available even out of office hours, a true Gem.
Would do it again in an instant.
