Every destination offered something unique and memorable—from the powerful history in Phnom Penh and the awe-inspiring temples of Angkor in Siem Reap to the vibrant energy of Bangkok and the peaceful charm of Chiang Mai. Phuket was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beach after an incredible cultural adventure. Throughout the tour, the local guides were absolutely fantastic—knowledgeable, friendly, and always going the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable and well-informed. The hotels were clean, well-located, and very comfortable, and the meals were consistently delicious, with a great mix of local flavors and international options. Chris· March 31st, 2025I will start with the positive stuff. The itinerary was generally very good with a couple of issues. Three nights in Bangkok is probably one night too many, and the trip to the Golden Triangle from Chiang Mai is ridiculous and should not be offered. It's a 10-hour round trip for not much payback. Thankfully, our local guide provided us with an alternative, so we managed to avoid what would have been a wasted day. Other than that, the itinerary could not be faulted. The local freelance guides used were of a high standard, and the hotels were generally decent and in good locations. Now the bad. There was no guide on the first night to help check in, which would have been nice when arriving in Cambodia at 10 p.m., with the hotel staff not speaking great English. Legend had been informed that my girlfriend was vegan. However, not one hotel or guide knew this, so this fairly critical piece of information had not been passed on, so she had very few choices for breakfast for the entire trip. And now the kicker - Legend advertised this trip as a private tour, but when we got to Bangkok, another lady joined the trip, and it soon became apparent that we were on a group tour. Legend admitted that the trip had been incorrectly advertised as a private tour, but they were unwilling to make the changes to make it private. The best they could do was to try to charge us an extra $1000 for the remaining eight or so days of the trip. This was frankly ridiculous given that it only required a guide and driver for a couple of days in Chang Mai and again in Phuket. This realistically would have cost nowhere near that in Thailand, and given that it was Legend that had made the error, they should have been the ones to foot the bill. I've been on many group tours before and they're great, however, we would have never considered booking this trip if we had any indication that it was not a private tour. Legend appeared to be more interested in profit than our happiness. We also found the local WhatsApp operator for Legend to be quite rude. All trips were attended by driver and guide, nothing to worry about!! We'd preferred to stay in 5* hotels so we decided to choose upgrade to luxury 5 stars hotels accommodation & never regret because all properties are so amazing!
