This was, by far the best trip I’ve ever been on. I’ve travelled all over the world and I would happily go back on this tour again. The in country guides we had, Majo in Buenos Aires and, Pamela in Ushuaia really made us feel welcome in their country. Charming, funny and very good at their jobs, both women took the time get to know everyone and give them personal help and advice where needed. We especially loved the Spanish lesson with Majo ? The time in Ushuaia was particularly special for us as we got engaged there! The whole team were involved and went way above and beyond to make the moment incredibly special and I’m so glad it was with such a wonderful group. Don’t worry about bringing hiking gear with you, rent it in Ushuaia for very cheap! Trust Pamela when she tells you what to wear. I cannot recommend this trip enough, you will fall in love with Argentina!Show more

I cannot thank the adventure leaders enough for taking the time to help us learn about their beautiful country, Buenos Aires - Please make sure you attend Majos Spanish lesson, it's fun and it really helped me learn, she's passionate about teaching and it'll help you throughout the country. Ushuia - Listen to Pamela and her advice about hiking, if she says you need different clothing, get the different clothing, go rent it, it's super cheap.Show more

I had an amazing time on this tour. The highlight for me was the Laguna Esmerelda hike in Ushuaia - the views were absolutely stunning! We had so many special experiences on this tour that I’ll never forget and I would highly recommend to others. You get to see so much of both countries in under two weeks and we even managed to fit in a day trip to Uruguay too.   The hike to Laguna Esmeralda is approximately 6 hours in total, including plenty of time to stop, enjoy the scenery and take photos. It is considered easy to moderate rather than difficult. You don't need to be an experienced hiker, and our local guide will always walk at the pace of the slowest member of the group. If anyone prefers to walk a little faster, the trail is well signposted.
  The route takes you through beautiful Patagonian landscapes, including unique wetlands, native forests, mountain scenery and, of course, the stunning turquoise waters of Laguna Esmeralda.
  In terms of equipment:
  
  Hiking boots or sturdy walking shoes are strongly recommended.
  
  Hiking poles/sticks are not essential, but many guests find them helpful for extra stability, particularly if the ground is wet or uneven. If you already use trekking poles, it's worth bringing them, but they're certainly not a requirement.
  
  Regarding whether the hike is mandatory, no. It is an included activity, but participation is completely optional. If you decide not to do the hike, you can simply enjoy a relaxing day in Ushuaia instead.
