Itinerary
- Day 1
Amman
You'll land at Queen Alia International Airport and head to your hotel. If you get in early, there's time before the 5 pm welcome meeting to walk through the Roman Theatre, check out The Jordan Museum to see the Dead Sea Scrolls, or look around the Umayyad Palace ruins. After the meeting wraps up, you'll have dinner with your group.

- Day 2
Amman - Jerash
Start with a short hike on the Soap House Trail through Ajloun Forest Reserve, walking among oak, pistachio, and oriental strawberry trees. You'll meet local women who work with traditional Orjan olive soap-making. Then head to Jerash to see the ancient Roman ruins uncovered back in 1806. The Colonnaded Street still shows chariot wheel grooves in the stones from centuries ago. You're back in Amman by evening with free time to visit the Citadel or find somewhere to eat.

Amman - Madaba - Dana Village - Petra
Take the Desert Highway toward Petra with a stop in Madaba to see Ottoman-style houses and Byzantine mosaics. Along the way you might spot the black Bedouin tents dotting the landscape. Continue on to Dana Village, built on a nature reserve, where you'll walk with a local guide, meet residents, hear about the area's culture, and see the terraced gardens. Check in at your Petra hotel with the rest of the day free.

- Day 4
Petra
Navigate through narrow stonewalls to reach Petra, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Walk the old Roman road and check out the temples, tombs, and rock-cut amphitheatre. There's an optional clifftop walk to the Monastery if you want panoramic views above the Treasury. Later, join a cooking class at a local Al Qantara kitchen where you'll prepare baba ghanoush and hummus for appetizers, then kabsah and mjadra for mains. You'll learn the techniques behind Arabic cooking.

Wadi Rum
After breakfast, head to Wadi Rum, a desert valley with dramatic scenery that's been used as a movie backdrop. Stop in Little Petra for tea with a local Bedouin family. Then jump into jeeps and drive through Mars-like desert landscapes, passing Lawrence Spring with its freshwater, Lawrence House where T.E. Lawrence supposedly stayed, and some of the region's largest sand dunes and rock bridges. You'll sleep in Bedouin-style tents tonight, and if you want, under the open sky with stars overhead.

- Day 6
Aqaba
Drive from the desert to the Red Sea coast and Aqaba, Jordan's only coastal town. You have the afternoon and evening to spend how you'd like. The warm, shallow Red Sea waters south of town have untouched coral reefs. Grab a mask and flippers to snorkel, walk along the shoreline, or relax by the pool. If you're interested in history, the 14th century Ottoman Fort is worth visiting, the place where T.E. Lawrence reportedly arrived with news of a revolt.

- Day 7
Dead Sea
Travel the scenic King's Highway, a winding route along rocky hillsides where shepherds watch their flocks. The road descends toward the Dead Sea shores. Put on your swimwear and float in the salty water, then grab handfuls of mud from the shoreline and cover yourself with it. The mineral-rich mud is said to have healing properties and leaves your skin feeling soft. Dinner is at a nearby restaurant with your group this evening.

Dead Sea - Amman
After breakfast at your Dead Sea resort, your trip through Jordan wraps up. You can stay longer if you'd like or head to Queen Alia International Airport about an hour away. Airport transfers and extra nights can be arranged through your booking agent.
