Most travellers prefer to take a small to medium wheeled suitcase, which is a great size for the packing capacity in our private vehicles. Whatever you take, be mindful that you will need to be able to carry your own luggage, handle it at airports, take it in/out of accommodation and perhaps even walk short distances. We recommend you pack as lightly as possible. There are 5 confirmed participants for the October 16th departure. Intrepid does not book flights, but what we see many travellers do is booking a roundtrip flight into one city and home from the other. Most flight search engines allow you to do this and book flights to/from different airports. If you'd like to purchase roundtrip tickets to/from Casablanca, the most popular option is to take the train from Marrakech back to Casablanca. Alternatively, we have a transfer option from the finishing point hotel in Marrakech to the Casablanca airport available for $300.00 CAD.

Fantastic journey. Deep dives into the culture and food without being overwhelming. Guides were great in cultural immersions, and felt safe throughout the trip. The trip does involve travel by a minibus, but the minibus was new, and there were plentiful stops along the way that kept the drives short. Homestays/guesthouses were awesome - great lodgings, and talking with the families who lived in the region for generations was very heartwarming. One night, after dinner, we played some 80's songs with singalong with our tour participants... this was followed by a very spontaneous drum performance by the sons of the proprietors, then a song/dance with the matriarch of the family as well. It was amazing. Great tour and memories.Show more

The one thing that was not good about this trip were a couple of other participants on the tour who detracted from the experience of the rest of the group. I would suggest this trip to people who are interested in seeing a lot of Morocco and learning about Moroccan food.Show more

This trip was amazing - so magical! I love traveling with Intrepid because so much is packed into a short amount of time and you really get to see a country while getting your money's worth!! HOWEVER - the group absolutely sucked. I am an American and I love traveling with Intrepid because I am usually the only American on the trip. This group was comprised of several infirm, middle-aged American women, one of whom was too obese to even walk without two walking sticks, and one of whom was an absolute nightmare who complained about EVERYTHING, had a ton of food restrictions even though this was a food tour, was RUDE to the locals and our tour guide Samir, and burped and farted constantly and audibly with nary an ""excuse me"". She got sick and coughed all over everything and everyone and didn't cover her mouth and as a result a bunch of people (including me) got sick too. She bummed out the entire group and it took all the positivity I had to not let her ruin my trip. I understand if you can't weed out people from certain countries, but it would be great if you could really vet the people going on these trips, at the very least, to discourage people who can't even climb stairs. This happened on my Japan trip too. Samir was a saint dealing with these women.Show more
