  The Southern India tour was an excellent introduction to the main sites and experiences, covering a large area in 15 days. Despite some long days travel it was never boring, and there were so many additional add ons to the main itinerary. All aspects of the trip were enjoyable; the small group of similar minded individuals, the excellent leader Abhi who shared so much information about life and culture in India, cookery lesson, Homestay, varied travel on local buses, tuktuks, narrow gauge train, overnight sleeper trains, minibuses, houseboats, punts etc. delicious meals and excellent restaurant suggestions, a couple of amazing evening shows, wildlife safaris, temples, shopping,...... An enormous amount fitted into the fortnight!!Show more

  Not one of Intrepid's better trips. There was a lot of travel involved with most stays only being one night. The hotels weren't great, with lots of issues. The minibuses used were quite crammed, especially when the tour was at capacity. Overall, I enjoyed southern India, especially the day trip on the houseboat. I just think that this tour could have been done better.Show more

  Fantastic tour and amazing experience with guide Abhi!! Lots of one night stays which enables you to get around to see lots of places yet also a couple of 2night stays allowing you to settle in more at a few locations. Had a bonus 2 stays with pools which came in handy as the constant temperature during January was hot and humid aside from the nights spent up in the amazingly beautiful tea plantations. Bring plenty of deet and a light warm jacket or coat. Transport to and from airport is easy to book yourself and will save you a lot of money. Uber is available from most Indian airports just make sure you sort your sim card out at the airport 1st and have them activate it before you leave the airport. Vodafone will do this for you. If you are lucky to get Ahbi as your guide then you are on good hands and will enjoy the south of IndiaShow more
