Title: Decline in Service – Excellent Guides, Poor Central Support I have taken several trips with National Geographic Expeditions in the past, and they were excellent. Unfortunately, this Tanzania expedition was different. The trip itself was good. The local guides were professional, knowledgeable, and the accommodations were appropriate. The on-site experience met expectations. The problem was the central office support. Before departure, simple logistical questions (such as whether excess luggage could be stored at the hotel) went unanswered or were unclear. We were also unnecessarily alarmed about local flight luggage weight limits—issues that were immediately and easily resolved by the local organizers upon arrival. These problems could have been handled efficiently if the central office had coordinated properly. Visa requirements for Tanzania were communicated only 10 days before departure, which created avoidable stress. The most serious issue occurred when KLM cancelled our international flight. Although National Geographic purchased the tickets, we were transported to the airport and then effectively left to manage the cancellation ourselves. There was no meaningful assistance, coordination, or advocacy. For a premium expedition brand, this level of abandonment during a major disruption is unacceptable.Show more

Payment information
- For any tour departing before May 17th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after May 17th, 2026, a minimum payment of 20% is required to confirm your booking with National Geographic Expeditions with G Adventures. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 65 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
