Itinerary
- Day 1
Cairo to Alexandria
Your guide picks you up from your Cairo or Giza hotel at 7:00 AM for the drive to Alexandria, which takes about 2.5 hours covering roughly 220 km. Once there, you'll head into the Catacombs of Kom El-Shoqafa to see how Roman and ancient Egyptian styles blend together in the artwork and architecture. After that, the Ancient Roman Amphitheater is next on the list, where you can walk around the marble seating and check out the mosaic flooring. The Alexandria Library comes after lunch at a local seafood restaurant, giving you a chance to see what's considered the world's second largest library. Before heading back, you'll stop by the Citadel of Qaitbay and take a walk along the Corniche to get some views. Your driver has you back at the hotel by around 6:00 PM.
