Itinerary
- Day 1
Belize City to Cayo District
You'll touch down in Belize City and head to your hotel in the Cayo District on your own. The drive takes a couple of hours through the country, giving you a chance to see the landscape as you make your way inland from the coast.
- Day 2
Cayo District
After breakfast, you're off to Xunantunich, an ancient Maya site sitting on the banks of the Mopan River. El Castillo, a 130-foot pyramid with intricate stucco carvings, is the main draw here, and you'll get a private guided tour through the ceremonial site to understand what happened there. Later in the afternoon, there's time to wander around the nearby town of San Ignacio before heading back to the hotel.

- Day 3
Cayo District
You'll drive through Mountain Pine Ridge's scenic terrain after breakfast, then switch to off-road travel heading to Barton Creek Cave. On the way, you'll pass through a traditional Mennonite community to see how locals live. The main event is a half-day canoe trip into the cave system, where ancient Maya performed ceremonies and burials centuries ago. Your guides point out stalactites and calcite formations while explaining the cultural significance of this 7.5-kilometre limestone cave system.

This day is entirely yours to spend how you'd like in the Cayo District. Rivers, forests, and rolling hills surround you, so it's perfect for either taking it easy and relaxing or heading out on your own to discover the dramatic landscapes and natural attractions scattered throughout the region.

Cayo District to San Pedro
After breakfast, you'll travel toward Belize City and stop at the Community Baboon Sanctuary, about 35 miles northwest of the city. A short jungle walk gives you chances to see and hear the black howler monkeys, known for their deep territorial calls that echo through the forest. Lunch at a local restaurant comes next, then it's off to Belize City airport for your included flight to San Pedro. Once you arrive, a transfer takes you to your hotel.

San Pedro
You're heading out to Hol Chan Marine Reserve, a protected area with shallow coral gardens and crystal-clear water. The natural reef cut has depths ranging from 1 to 9 metres, and you'll see diverse marine life around stag horn corals and sea fans. Then it's on to Shark Ray Alley nearby, where nurse sharks and southern stingrays glide through the water. This ranks as one of Belize's top snorkelling and diving spots.

San Pedro to Belize City
At the right time, you'll make your way to San Pedro airport for your flight back to Belize City. From there, you'll connect to your international flight heading home.
