You'll arrive in Maishofen and get yourself settled into your accommodation. Take time to unpack and get oriented with the area before your hiking adventure kicks off. This is your chance to rest up and prepare mentally for the days ahead.

Maishofen to Maria Alm
Today you're hiking over Kammereggalm to Schwalbenwand, which is the iconic double peak you'll recognize from the Pinzgau meadow mountains. The route gives you impressive views across various mountain peaks, and you'll walk through forest at Hofer Plattl before stopping at Hinterreit. From there it's on to Maria Alm, a quiet pilgrimage village that makes for a nice end to the day.

Maria Alm to Saalfelden
You'll follow pilgrimage trails through meadows and cross moorland heading toward Steinerne Meer, which translates to Stony Sea. The high altitude routes offer beautiful views as you make your way to Steinalm, a sunny upland pasture where there's a cabin for a break. After that, you descend a steep path past a hermitage and Lichtenberg castle, eventually reaching the historic town of Saalfelden.

Saalfelden to Fieberbrunn
Starting from Vorderkaser ravine in Weissbach, you'll follow streams on a diverse path up to Hochkaser hill pasture. This is a pass traverse that takes you from the steep Leogang and Lofer mountain tops over to the Tyrolean side. Then you'll continue through Niederkaseralm and down the Griesel valley with its wild, romantic riverbed before arriving in Pillersee valley with Lofer mountains as your backdrop.

Fieberbrunn to Saalbach-Hinterglemm
You'll walk through lush meadows with views of the Kitzbühel Alps and head into a deep valley. A comfortable path takes you beneath cable cars from the Magnesitenbergwerk mine up to Burgeralm where you can stop for local dessert called Buchteln. The descent happens on a nice forest path and high route down to Saalbach-Hinterglemm, and if you're interested, there are appealing mountain peaks along the way you can climb.

Saalbach-Hinterglemm
This is a flexible day in the sport region. You can do a comfortable circular walk at the valley's end past Forsthof alp to Saal alp and Lindling alp, where a suspension bridge takes you to the Baumzipfelweg. Or if you prefer, you can use your Joker-Card services. Either way, stop for buttermilk at an alpine hut and take in panoramic views of the Glemmtal valley.

Saalbach-Hinterglemm to Maishofen
You're hiking one of the most beautiful high altitude routes in the Alps today, walking at roughly 2000m elevation with views toward Schmittenhöhe. The 360-degree panoramic views take in more than 30 mountains exceeding 3000m. After that, you'll take the cable car down to Zell am See and then head back to Maishofen by bus.
