- Day 1
Johannesburg
You'll arrive in Johannesburg and get settled at Fairlawns Boutique Hotel, which has peaceful gardens and art throughout the rooms. If your flight gets in early enough, there are optional activities like a walking tour through Soweto or a hands-on potjie cooking session in their outdoor kitchen. Later in the evening, head to Marble Restaurant in Rosebank for dinner. The chef David Higgs runs the kitchen there, so you can expect thoughtful cooking.

- Day 2
Johannesburg to Hazyview
Travel east toward Mpumalanga, stopping in Dullstroom for lunch at Clarky's Lakeside Restaurant. From there, drive through the Drakensberg escarpment to see the Three Rondavels overlooking Blyde Canyon and Bourke's Luck Potholes, where water has carved intricate sandstone patterns into the rock. You'll arrive at Hippo Hollow Country Estate on the Sabie River by late afternoon. Dinner that evening celebrates South African flavours paired with regional wines.

Hazyview
This is your Signature Day offering several experiences to choose from. You might visit the Black Mamba All-Women Anti-Poaching Unit to learn about their conservation work, or try gold panning in Pilgrim's Rest and keep your findings. Other options include a cruise through Blyde River Canyon past Africa's largest active tufa waterfall, a visit to Moholoholo Rehabilitation Centre, or crafting a conservation bangle from snare wire with Down to the Wire's team. The afternoon is leisurely back at the lodge, then you'll gather for dinner.

Hazyview to Kruger Park
Travel the Panorama Route through Mpumalanga's escarpment with a short walk at God's Window for expansive Lowveld views. A glass elevator descends into Graskop Gorge where you'll walk through forest and cross suspension bridges high above the trees. Lunch happens at the Lift Café before you arrive at Leopard Sands, your luxury riverfront retreat. After settling in, join your first private game drive through Kruger as afternoon light softens, then relax with an outdoor cinema featuring wine, popcorn, and the sounds of the bush.

- Day 5
Kruger Park
You'll wake before dawn to join an expert ranger for a full-day private safari through Kruger National Park in open 4x4 vehicles. Track lions, elephants, rhinos, and other wildlife while your ranger explains tracks and bird calls. Mid-morning, visit Skukuza Indigenous Plant Nursery where a botanist will talk with you and you can plant a tree contributing to the park's rewilding efforts. A picnic lunch follows amid the greenery, then you'll continue exploring diverse terrain before returning for sundowners overlooking the Sabie River.

Continue to Chimp Eden at the Jane Goodall Institute for a private tour and conversation with the Primate Manager, where you'll watch rescued chimpanzees roaming freely through semi-wild forest enclosures. Return to the lodge to unwind before dinner.

Your journey ends here, though memories of elephants at dusk, lion roars in the distance, and starlight reflected in the Sabie River will stay with you.
