- Day 1
Stockholm
You'll have the day to yourself in Stockholm, a city spread across nearly 25,000 islands. Wander through the old streets to see royal heritage sites, or head down Drottninggatan (Queen Street) where you'll find shops, bars, and cafes. This is your time to explore without a guide, so you can move at your own pace.

- Day 2
Stockholm
Your taxi driver picks you up at the hotel and takes you to the small port for the Royal Canal Cruise. During the cruise, you'll learn about Stockholm's history while moving through the water. The city sits across 14 islands between Lake Mälaren and the Baltic Sea, which is why people call it the Venice of the North. After you get back, the rest of the day is open for you to explore on your own.

Stockholm to Oslo
Head to the train station to catch the high-speed train to Oslo. The ride is comfortable and takes you through scenic countryside as you travel from Sweden into Norway. When you arrive, check into your hotel. From there, you have free time to see the city center, visit the harbor, or relax in one of Oslo's many cafes. You'll meet your tour leader either this afternoon at the hotel or at breakfast tomorrow morning.

- Day 4
Oslo
Meet your local guide at hotel reception and head out for a three-hour city tour starting at 11:00 am. You'll see Frogner Park with its Vigeland sculptures, the Royal Palace, City Hall, and Akershus Fortress as you learn about Oslo's highlights and what makes the capital so important to Norway.

Oslo - Myrdal - Flåm - Balestrand
In the morning, board the Bergen Railway and travel through dramatic mountain scenery to Myrdal station high in the mountains. From there, you'll switch to the Flåmsbana Railway, one of the world's steepest and most beautiful train rides. You'll pass sheer cliffs, waterfalls, remote farms, and go through 20 tunnels as you descend to the fjord village of Flåm. Later, take a fjord cruise from Flåm to Balestrand, sailing through the Sognefjord with tall peaks all around you.

Balestrand
Take it easy this morning in Balestrand and explore the village and fjord area at your own pace. You can walk along the water, check out local art galleries, or just sit back and soak in the peaceful setting. If you want, there's an optional half-day trip to Fjærland where you can see where a glacier meets the fjord.

Balestrand to Bergen
Walk from your hotel down to the pier and board a scenic express boat to Bergen. As you travel along the Sognefjord, you'll see tall cliffs, charming villages, and quiet Nordic scenery the whole way. Once you arrive, leave your bags at the hotel and meet your local guide at reception for a walking tour. You'll see the Hanseatic Bryggen with its colorful wooden buildings, St Mary's Church, Håkon's Fortress, and the busy Fish Market.

You have the full day free to discover Bergen, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site and a major gateway to Norway's fjords. Walk through the UNESCO-listed Bryggen Wharf, browse the Fish Market, or take the Fløibanen funicular up Mount Fløyen for views of the city and fjords below. Optional activities are available if you want to do more.

Bergen to Stavanger
After breakfast at the hotel, head south toward Stavanger, Norway's oil capital. Make your way to the pier and board the ferry for a 5 hour 30 minute coastal journey. While you sail, you'll see Norway's rough coastline with islands, quiet inlets, and wild natural areas. When you reach Stavanger, go to your hotel on your own. Private transfers can be arranged ahead of time if you prefer.

- Day 10
Stavanger
Take a memorable cruise through the Lysefjord on a battery-powered boat that runs almost silently. You'll board right from the city center and head into the heart of Norway's quiet fjord landscapes. After passing under the Lysefjord Bridge, steep cliffs surround you. The crew will navigate toward Fantahålla cave, and soon you'll see Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock), which rises 604 meters above the fjord. The fjord also has spectacular waterfalls like Hengjanefossen, where the captain gets close enough for you to feel the spray. In spring and summer, watch for goats on the mountainsides and possibly sea eagles, seals, or porpoises.
