The tour itself was great, a terrific learning experience. The fact that I was not informed that we were not travelling with Escapas but with Julia Travels, caused us anxiety and disappointment. We were collected from the train and transported to the hotel so that was encouraging. Arriving at our first accommodation, they had trouble finding our booking and had never heard of Escapas. They did not give me the envelope of information so when it came to the afternoon tour to Toledo we knew it was on but our notes did not give a time or the address of the meeting place. We had asked the morning tour guide for Madrid but she couldn't help, saying we had free time not a tour. After franticly trying to get the information through tour radar messaging and emailing and by ringing the phone numbers for Escapas(which did not answer) we missed Toledo which we had been looking forward to. That evening another couple returning from Toledo told us they had received an envelope of information from the hotel desk. After some time questioning staff, our envelope was found, and there was all the information needed. Julia Travels (or Escapas) had used my middle name as a surname. An annoying start.Show more

Overall the trip was wonderful. Our guide was very good and made everyone feel comfortable. All the city guides were excellent too. My only issues were: 1. Not being admitted to the Cathedral in Seville due to a special mass earlier in the day so when we arrived we were not allowed in (hopefully we get a refund?), 2. The catamaran cruise was disappointing and the time could have been put to better use by seeing more of the city and sights, 3. The Flamenco class was another waste of time. The Flamenco performance was not the traditional dance I was expecting thus underwhelming.Show more

What a fabulous tour! We had 11 friendly people on our small group tour and a brand new air conditioned bus (our driver excitedly told us!). Our wonderful tour leader, Seckin, and our friendly driver made the tour even more enjoyable. We were picked up at Istanbul airport, even though we flew in a day earlier, and were driven to Izmir Airport and assisted with our bag drop off when we flew to Athens. When we landed in Athens, we were picked up again and escorted to our hotel. 5 star service. The Turkey leg of our tour was wonderful. Make sure you do the balloon ride in Cappadocia. It is a highlight and magical. The days can be a little long and tiring, but worth it. The hotels were all good quality and comfortable and the food buffets were good. The only negative thing we can say is that the last 2 days in Athens were not a "small group tour" as advertised, which was disappointing. We were driven around from hotel to hotel, loaded on and off 2 big coaches and were part of a large group tour, which mainly did the Acropolis museum and the Acropolis. There were a few people that were disappointed and left the tour before the end. We lost our tour guide on several occasions due to the crowds. The last day on the 3 island cruise was again very busy and crowded (although you are alerted to this in the tour information). We took advantage of upgrading to the VIP room and it was worth every cent to get away from the crowds. There were only 8 of us in the section and the day before I believe there were 32.Show more
