If you want something quieter instead, Las Mujeres Beach offers a different kind of experience. Later in the evening, find a restaurant near the dunes for dinner with views.

You'll head inland today to see what Gran Canaria looks like beyond the coast. The mountain village of Fataga has white buildings and palm trees filling the valleys around it. From the viewpoint at Roque Bentayga, you get wide views across the island's interior. If you're up for the climb, Pico de las Nieves gives you views from the highest point.

The dolphinarium is the main draw here, with performances and interactions with the dolphins. You'll need most of the day to see everything.

For hikers, Playa de Güigüí is only reachable on foot, but the empty beach and rocky coastline make it worth the effort.

From there, continue to Agüimes, a town built in 1491 with white architecture that's stayed traditional. End your day at Destilerías Arehucas, the oldest rum distillery on the island, for a tour and tasting.

Las Palmas

Grab a coffee and sit somewhere with a view of the city coming to life around you as you wrap up your time here.
