    Cancún

    You'll land at Cancún airport and pick up your rental car, then drive to your accommodation. After the flight, the main goal is settling in, trying your first tacos, and getting a feel for the Caribbean atmosphere around Yucatán. Plan to take it easy this evening and get some rest.

  2. Day 2

    Isla Mujeres

    Head out to catch the ferry across turquoise waters to Isla Mujeres. Once there, you can get around by golf cart or bike to check out the island. The dramatic cliffs and sculpture park at Punta Sur are worth seeing, and Playa Norte is the place to spend time with clear water and watch the sunset. It's a relaxed day focused on the beach and views.

From there, swing through the small town of Uayma with its red-and-white church, then cool off with a swim at Cenote San Lorenzo Oxman. Later, drive to colonial Valladolid for dinner at El Mesón del Marqués and a stroll through town.

    Valladolid - Ek'Balam - Cenotes

    Get breakfast at Yerbabuena del Sisal before heading to the less-visited Mayan site of Ek'Balam. Climb the Acropolis for views over the jungle, then take a bike ride to Cenote X'Canché for a swim. Next, see Cenote Suytun with its natural sunlight coming through.     Spend the morning at the Mayan city of Cobá walking the ancient sacbé trails that wind through jungle. Then head into the cave-like Cenote Choo-Ha to see the stalactites and take a dip. After that, relax at Cenote Yax-kin. Drive to Tulum for dinner with authentic tacos and time to walk around and take in the nighttime vibe.
