Not enough time to take it all in... very touristy "shopping", and the food was mediocre at best... while I am grateful to have seen such amazingly beautiful aspects of italia, I can't help but to wonder what the experience would've been like had I been able to visit the real italia... not just the iconic bits.Show more

  The first half of the trip is very well planned as we had a tour director and bus. Stephano and Luigi were absolutely fantastic. They went above and beyond to make sure we all were taken care of. Once we returned back to Rome in the middle of the trip, we got passed around to different drivers, tour leaders, etc. It was a bit disheartening. However, things were well organized and we were able to do everything we were supposed to. Overall, it was nice to have tours of the cities and then free time. The free time in each city was very nice. Hotels were nice. Keep in mind, we are in Europe. Do not expect large rooms with massive bathrooms. All hotels were clean.Show more

  It was like speed-dating Italy As far as the “taste” goes - we had much better meals on our own just by randomly walking into restaurants on our own. The free gelato in Rome the first night was nice. The evening cocktail was good in Venice. The Napolitano pizza lunch was good as well as the lunch in wine country. The 2 dinners in the hotels were awful! The dinner at the hotel in Capri- area was excellent! The hotel in Rome & Sorrento we’re very nice. Although I’m Sorrento we’re we’re put in an Amex building and the pool & spa closed at 7pm. All the other hotels were awful.Show more

  The 1st 5 days were with 1 tour guide on a bus. We loved our guide (Rosella) and all of our fellow passengers on the bus. Made some good memories together. Unfortunately, we had some bad weather which can't be helped. We toured Sienna in pouring rain. Bring an umbrella. We did spend a lot of time waiting around for people or buses. Also, every time we were given time to explore on our own, it meant finding our own way (and paying for return trip) back to hotel (e.g. Rome at sunset, florence, and venice).I would never think that a tour wouldn't include the return trip to the hotel each day. At end of 1st part of tour, we were then passed around to various guides who were terrible. Communication was terrible. They dropped us off on a corner and pointed out how to walk to hotel around a few corners, leaving us to navigate across streets with our luggage (and fast motorcycles and cars). Tour guide Sasha gave us a very limited tour of Pompeii, without stopping at the museum or seeing the amphitheater. He lost an elderly man because he paid no attention to accounting for his group. Some of the information he shared we found wasn't even accurate.. The next day he left us standing in pouring rain when we arrived at Capri for over 30 minutes. If not for a fellow passenger who told Sasha and Alisa that there were 2 couples missing, they would have left for day to Anicapri without us. When we confronted him for "abandoning us" he vehemently denied it. No apology ever given. Then we were told that the visit to the Amalfi coast was not included, even though the tour description included it. This part of the tour was going to cost us another $75 Eruos per person and was to be paid in cash. In fact, all of the add on excursions (night in venice, visit to Pisa) were to be paid only in cash, which had not be explained to us before hand. Overall, tour was very poor. The only reason it didn't get the lowest rating was due to our wonderful guide the 1st 5 days.Show more

  Nicole, the tour guide was very knowledgeable. My constructive criticism would be to not single guests out. It became habitual to one Lebanese couple to the point it made the majority of the 27 of us uncomfortable. They were limited in their understanding of English. They paid the same as the rest of the group and they deserved to be treated the same. There was another single man that it was obvious he annoyed her a great deal as well... Other than that she was really good but those two examples left a sour taste in my mouth. Tour guide in Florence good (forgot his name smaller well dressed gentleman), tour guide in Pisa good (Roberto), tour guide in Venice was extremely patient, knowledgeable nice (forgot his name), tour guide at Vatican City was great (David), tour guide at Pompeii couldn't have been more boring no enthusiasm (obviously forgot her name), tour guide in Capri fantastic (Sasha). Hotels were comfortable. Sorrento looked great from the outside, common areas nice, our room was really dated and furniture a bit beaten up/worn. All breakfasts up to Sorrento were basic with eggs never being cooked well and cold (that being said, you could find something to eat), the lunches and dinners were just okay but not awful (basic and repetitive). That being said there aren't that many and it is tough to cater to everyone, there are so many tour groups coming and going. Drivers were good and the coach buses comfortable. Wifi was not guaranteed on the bus, so just don't be expecting it. Air freshener on the bus from Rome to Sorrento was so strong I could taste it and my nose was raw from it. Excursions were great. Our alone time to shop was adequate, no complaints. Overall its a great trip and a great way to see a lot in a week and a half. I would definitely do it again. I think the price was very reasonable, and priced fairly. You really had nothing to worry about, it's all done for you. You just need to be where you're instructed to be so the group isn't waiting on you! I really recommend it and the best part you meet good people and make friends and lasting memories!Show more

  Any free time we had to explore any of the small towns were limited to just over an hour. We stayed outside of Venice and the hotel was horrible, we also had too much time in Venice. The hotel in Sorrento that we were put in was bad, we did not have a nice hotel room and we were put in a different hotel to all others that were on our tour. We also waiting for over 40 minutes each bus ride to Sorrento for our bus etc. The tour was not worth what we paid. Will not be doing a tour ever again.Show more

  Overall the tour was good. The hotel Delfino in Venice was a 2 star ⭐️ so disappointing. The south of Italy part seemed very unorganised with different tour guides and little communication. The bus drivers down south drive like maniacs and I’m surprised we didn’t have an accident.Show more

  Our tour guides were very knowledgeable. Hotels were adequate, nothing special as were the meals from the hotel. At times, we seemed to be uncertain about what to expect mainly upon arriving in Rome at the Hotel St Martin. There wasn’t any published info or a contact there to refer to. Also didn’t like having to transfer with our luggage from a small bus to the tour bus in Pompeii. The bus wasn’t vacant when we arrived and we had to wait with our luggage for others to come back from their tour. I would have liked more to be included. The tour states Amalfi Coast. When we got to sorrento we were advised that a tour of amalfi coast would be an extra 80 euros pp.Show more
