Itinerary
- Day 1
Glenbeigh
You'll arrive in Glenbeigh by public transport, which serves as your starting point for the Kerry Way Self-Guided Walking Tour. The village is positioned nicely between sandy beaches, rolling hills, and countryside, giving you a sense of the landscape you'll be walking through over the next few days.
Landmarks Glenbeigh - Day 2
Glenbeigh to Cahirciveen
This is a longer walking day at roughly 30 km over 8 hours. You'll head out from Glenbeigh across the River Behy and into Behy Forest, passing an old railroad line along the way. The route opens up to Rosbeigh Beach with views across Dingle Bay, then takes you through Foilmore Valley with Knocknadobar rising above. It's a full day but the scenery keeps changing throughout.

Cahirciveen to Waterville
This day covers about 25 km but takes around 9 hours, so it's a longer walk despite being slightly shorter distance than the previous day. You'll move through peat bogs and pine forests with some short climbs that open up views of Valentia Island and the peninsula's western end. By evening you'll reach Waterville, a colorful village sitting right on Ballinskelligs Bay.

- Day 4
Waterville to Caherdaniel
After the longer days, this one's a bit easier at roughly 19 km over 6 hours, taking you from Waterville down to Caherdaniel. It gives your legs a chance to recover while still moving through the landscape.

Caherdaniel to Sneem
You'll walk through the foothills of Eagle Hill for about 19 km over 7 hours, and there's a short detour up to Staigue Fort if you want to add it on. The fort dates back to the 3rd century and is one of Ireland's largest ring forts. The route stays higher than the main Ring of Kerry road, following rocky paths through sheep country before dropping into Sneem.
