    Neustadt

    You'll arrive in Neustadt and start by picking up your tour information and bike. From there, take time to walk through the winding streets and check out the collegiate church, which is pretty impressive. The Elwedritschen fountain is worth seeing too. After you've had a chance to explore, head to your accommodation and settle in for the night.

    Neustadt to Rastatt

    This is a longer cycling day, roughly 100km through wine-growing villages. You'll start by riding to Landau's medieval town hall square, then head to Bad Bergzabern to see the baroque castle and Westwall Museum. Continue through the wine gate at Schweigen into Alsatian Wissembourg, and from there cycle through the Bienwald forest and Lauter valley. The day ends at Rastatt's baroque residence.

    Rastatt to Speyer

    You're cycling approximately 90km along the Rhine today. Start by passing through Karlsruhe, the old royal seat, where you can see the castle and pyramid. Ride through the Hördter Rheinauen, which is the largest nature reserve in the Palatinate region. Later, you'll reach Germersheim, a former fortress town, and continue along the Old Rhine to Speyer. The UNESCO World Heritage cathedral there is worth your time.

Then cycle through the vineyards as you head toward Mainz and its second imperial cathedral.
