Tamanrasset
You'll land in Tamanrasset and connect with your local Tuareg guide right away. After grabbing lunch in town, the drive into the Ahaggar Mountains takes you to Assekrem Plateau where you get wide-open views of lava-formed peaks and desert valleys stretching out below. As the sun starts dropping, there's time to visit a nearby Tuareg encampment. You'll share mint tea with the community, pick up information about local customs, and pitch in with dinner preparations. Then you settle in for the night under the stars at camp.

- Day 2
Ahaggar Mountains
Start early to catch sunrise over the Ahaggar peaks, then have a simple breakfast. The morning involves a light desert hike or camel ride through sandy trails and ancient dry riverbeds with local guides. After lunch at a picnic spot, you'll see nearby prehistoric rock engravings that tell stories of ancient wildlife from when the region had more water. By evening, head back to camp for a traditional Tuareg meal and music around the fire.

You'll learn about the region's history as a major trading hub where desert caravans used to pass through. From there, it's time to transfer to the airport for your flight back to Algiers or wherever your next stop takes you.
