Nouakchott
You'll arrive in Nouakchott and connect with your guide for the hotel transfer. Depending on when you land, there's a chance to head to Port de Pêche at sunset to watch the fishermen unload their daily catches. The evening includes a welcome dinner and a briefing on what's ahead for the trip.

- Day 2
Nouakchott to Atar
The drive heads north into the desert toward Atar, which serves as the gateway to the Adrar region. Along the route, you'll stop at roadside oases and pass through small villages where camels roam freely. By evening you'll reach your guesthouse and get settled in for the night.

Landmarks Atar - Day 3
Chinguetti
You'll travel to Chinguetti, a 13th-century caravan city and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walking through the old stone-built town, you can visit one of the ancient Qur'anic libraries and talk with local scholars who work to preserve centuries-old manuscripts. Later in the afternoon, you'll head out into the Saharan dunes and watch the sun set over the sand.

- Day 4
Chinguetti to Ouadane
The journey crosses the desert to Ouadane, a remote settlement filled with crumbling stone houses and mosques from its days as a major trans-Saharan trading hub. Walking through the ruins, you'll feel the isolation and quiet of the Sahara. On the way, you'll stop at Guelb er Richat, a geological formation that's visible from space.

Nomadic Desert Camp
You'll spend this day with a nomadic family, helping pitch a tent, milking goats, and making tea the traditional Mauritanian way. Listen to stories that have been passed down through generations. That night you'll sleep under the stars in the open desert.

Terjit Oasis

Terjit to Nouakchott
