- Days 1 - 2
Cape Town
Another free day to explore Cape Town however you like. You'll get an included hop-on hop-off bus pass and a Table Mountain Cableway ticket, so you can use those to hit the main spots. The red, blue, and purple bus lines take you around the city, or ride up Table Mountain to see the views from the top. Later, head out to one of the beaches or spend your evening trying different restaurants around the city.

- Day 3
Cape Town - Cape Peninsula
You'll get picked up from your Cape Town accommodation around 7-8am for a guided small group tour heading to Cape Point. The route takes you through Hout Bay fishing village where you can check out the seal colony at Duiker Island, then winds along Chapman's Peak with its 114 bends offering great coastal views. From there you'll explore Cape of Good Hope and keep an eye out for ostriches and baboons roaming the area. There's a stop at the lighthouse, and then you'll head to Boulders Beach to see the African penguins before heading back to Cape Town by late afternoon around 5-6pm.

Cape Town to Oudtshoorn
Today kicks off your 5-day Garden Route adventure with a 400km drive from Cape Town south through mountain passes, farmlands, and vineyards along Route 62, which mirrors America's Route 66 and holds the title of world's longest wine route. You'll stop for wine tasting to try local varieties, then continue through rugged terrain and towering cliffs heading toward Oudtshoorn. By evening you'll be settling into this countryside town known as the ostrich capital, and you'll have free time to wander around and get a feel for the place.

- Day 5
Oudtshoorn to Addo
Starting early from Oudtshoorn, you'll head into the mountains to explore Cango Caves with its limestone chambers, stalactites, stalagmites, and historic Khoikhoi paintings on the walls. You get to choose between a Heritage Tour for a gentler experience or an Adventure Tour if you want something more physical and involved. After that you'll travel through Karoo country and stop at a padstal-inspired restaurant-deli for lunch where you can try traditional South African food like bobotie and koeksisters. Then you continue through shifting landscapes as the Klein Karoo gradually turns greener as you approach the Greater Addo Region, a citrus farming area surrounded by the Zuurberg Mountains.

- Day 6
Addo to Jeffreys Bay
You'll start before dawn for an early safari at Addo Elephant National Park, traveling along dusty dirt roads as the bush comes alive. Your guide uses local knowledge to help spot the Big Five and other wildlife throughout the morning. After your safari adventure, you'll make your way toward the coast and Jeffreys Bay, South Africa's main surf destination. The atmosphere there is laid-back with Indian Ocean waters and relaxed beaches. You can browse the JBay surf wear shops or try surfing yourself at this well-known break. Dinner happens at your accommodation or at a local seafood restaurant to end the day.

Jeffreys Bay to Tsitsikamma - Knysna - Sedgefield
Today offers high-energy activities in the Garden Route's lush green landscapes. You can either do the world's highest Bungy Bridge Jump at Bloukrans Bridge with a 216m drop, or try Waterfall Ziplining through Tsitsikamma forest across five lines including a 211-meter slide over three waterfalls. If you prefer something calmer, there's the option to walk through the lush Tsitsikamma National Park forests with its suspension bridge, bird watching, wildlife spotting, and waterfalls. Later you'll stop at Knysna Heads for scenic views of the lagoon surrounded by ancient forests. By evening you'll reach Sedgefield for a sunset beach walk and optional dinner at a rustic beach restaurant or intimate town spot.

- Day 8
Sedgefield - Wilderness to Cape Town
The final day takes you along the N2 national road through coastal towns and ocean-lined routes bordered by forested national parks. You'll stop in the seaside village of Mossel Bay with an optional private game reserve safari available if you want. After a week exploring the Garden Route's highlights and bucket list experiences, you'll head back toward Cape Town or Stellenbosch with an evening drop-off happening between 8pm and 10pm.

Cape Town
Your final free day in Cape Town before departure depends on your flight time, so evening or late afternoon flights work best to give you some hours to spend. Squeeze in a beach visit, pick up last-minute gifts at Canal Walk or Green Market Square, or walk the Sea Point Promenade if you want something low-key. Optional activities like skydiving or shark cage diving are available if you're looking for one more adventure. You'll get a free airport transfer to Cape Town International Airport for your flight.
