  • B

    Benjamin

    Asked on June 27th, 2026

I have a question about the optional El Chaltén Day Trip. My main goal is to reach the Laguna de los Tres viewpoint to see the iconic Mount Fitz Roy view. With the time included in your day trip, is it realistically possible for an average hiker to reach Laguna de los Tres and return before the bus departs? If not, what is the best Mount Fitz Roy viewpoint that can realistically be reached during the tour?

    Tour Details
    • Aborigen ToursOperatorWritten June 2026

Regarding your question about the optional El Chaltén Day Trip, reaching Laguna de los Tres viewpoint within the timeframe of the excursion is generally not feasible for an average hiker. The hike is quite demanding and typically requires a full day to complete at a comfortable pace. For this reason, during the day trip, most passengers opt for shorter and more accessible trails. One of the best alternatives to enjoy views of Mount Fitz Roy within the available time is the Laguna Capri viewpoint, which offers stunning panoramic views and can be reached with a moderate hike. This option allows you to fully enjoy the scenery while ensuring you return on time for the scheduled departure.
