Nizwa
Landing in Nizwa puts you in the cultural center of Oman, surrounded by the Hajar Mountains. After picking up your 4x4 rental, you'll walk through the vibrant souks where gold, spices, and pottery fill every shop. Then head to Nizwa Fort, a UNESCO site where mountain views stretch out from the walls.

Misfat Al Abriyyin - Wadi Nakhar
Today takes you into the rugged countryside. You'll wander through Al Hamra, an ancient mud town with 400-year-old buildings still standing. From there, hike the Misfat Trek, walking through oasis fields with mountain backdrops. By evening, reach Wadi Nakhar to watch sunset turn the canyon golden, the rock formations shifting color as light fades.

Nizwa

Nizwa to Wahiba Sands
The drive toward Sama Al Wasil Desert Camp takes you through shifting landscapes as golden dunes surround your 4x4. You'll reach the camp and settle into clay chalets, then relax by the fire after sunset. Dinner features regional dishes, and the night sky above is something else entirely if you take time to look up.

Wahiba Sands
After breakfast in the desert, you can book a dune drive on site or explore on your own. Head to Wadi Bani Khalid, a turquoise oasis where you'll swim and hike through rocky gorges. Back at camp, an outdoor cinema screens movies under stars with beanbags and popcorn, making the evening feel pretty special.
