Itinerary
- Day 1
Tangier to Chefchaouen
Your adventure starts at Tangier port, where you'll head inland through the Rif Mountains. The drive takes you past Tetouan before reaching Chefchaouan, a village known for its blue-painted buildings and winding alleyways. Once there, you can wander through the streets, check out the Spanish-style plaza, and browse local shops and cafes. There's time to grab lunch or coffee at one of the small restaurants scattered throughout town. You'll spend the night in Chefchaouan, settling into your accommodation as the sun sets over the blue walls.

- Day 2
Chefchaouan to Fes
After breakfast, you'll have the morning to walk through Chefchaouan's blue alleyways until around noon. Then you head to Volubilis, where you can walk among Roman ruins dating back centuries, including mosaics and structures that show the area's historical importance. From there, it's on to Fes for the night. You'll stay in a traditional riad, which gives you an authentic feel for how locals live in this historic city.

- Day 3
Fes
This day is dedicated to Fes's old Medina, one of the oldest imperial cities in the region and a center of Arab-Muslim culture. After breakfast, you'll visit the Mosque of the Andalusians, check out the tanneries where leather is dyed using traditional methods, and see the pottery district. Lunch happens in a palace within the Medina itself, which is a nice break in the middle of exploring. Afterward, you can see Hispano-Moorish buildings and the Medersas Nejjarine, which are decorated with intricate tilework and carved wood.

- Day 4
Fes to Erg Chebbi
You'll travel through the Anti Atlas mountains in the morning, passing dramatic cliffs and colorful rock formations. By afternoon, you reach Erg Chebbi, where the landscape opens up to sand dunes. A camel ride across the dunes at sunset is the highlight, giving you time to experience the desert as it shifts from gold to deeper orange tones. You'll stay overnight at a base camp in the desert, where the night sky is especially clear.

- Day 5
Erg Chebbi to Dades Valley
Starting with breakfast at the base camp, you'll visit nearby Berber villages to see how people live in this region and learn about their traditions. Later, you drive to Rissani, which was once the capital of the Alaouite Sultans and has historical significance. From there, it's on to Todra Gorges, where palm trees line a river and canyon walls rise dramatically on either side. You continue to Dades Valley for the night, where more mountain scenery surrounds your accommodation.

Dades Valley to Marrakech
After breakfast, you head to Kalaat M'gouna, known as the Rose City, then follow the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs toward Ouarzazate. Stop at Atlas Studios, Morocco's largest film studio, where you can see sets and learn about movies shot in Morocco. Next is Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that's been used as a filming location for major productions. You cross Tizi n'Tichka pass at 7,415 feet, with panoramic views of the Atlas Mountains on all sides. By afternoon, you arrive in Marrakech and settle in for the evening.
