- Day 1
Arrival in Ivalo
You'll arrive in Ivalo by 6 pm and get transferred to your accommodation. Your hosts will give you a warm welcome, and you'll have dinner together at the farm restaurant that evening.

- Day 2
Ivalo
After breakfast, you'll receive your winter gear and learn to use snowshoes, cross-country skis, and pedal sledges in small groups. That afternoon includes a Northern Lights workshop covering how to observe and photograph the aurora. After dinner, you'll head out on your first hunt for the Northern Lights.

Ivalo
You'll board a snowmobile sledge and travel through the Lapland landscape with views across Teno Valley and Norwegian mountains. Camp lunch happens by the campfire, and you can try ice fishing for Arctic char if that interests you. Back at the farm, you'll relax in the sauna before dinner and another evening searching for the Northern Lights.

Landmarks Teno Valley - Day 4
Ivalo to Nesseby to Varangerbotn
You'll cross into Norway and drive to the Arctic Ocean coast to visit the traditional fishing village of Nesseby. The eternally ice-free Varangerfjord is there, and you'll learn about Norwegian fishing traditions and coastal Sami culture at the Varangerbotn Sami Museum. Lunch happens on the drive back (about 5 hours total). The afternoon is free for relaxation or walks.

- Day 5
Ivalo
A snowmobile takes you up into the fells toward the border lake Pulmankijärvi (roughly 30 km, 2.5 hours). You'll see impressive winter landscapes, have hot drinks, and might spot wild reindeer. Later that afternoon, you visit a reindeer farm to help feed the animals and try traditional lasso throwing. Your evening includes learning about Sami life and culture at a campfire in a traditional lavvu.

Ivalo to Teno Valley
You'll drive to the husky camp on the Norwegian side (about 30 minutes away). After meeting your musher and energetic sled dogs and getting a briefing, you'll set off with your own husky team through the snow-covered Teno Valley wilderness (approximately 2 hours, 2 people per sled). Hot drinks and snacks by the campfire come next, then you'll return to the farm for lunch. Your afternoon is free for winter walks, rest, or sauna time.

Landmarks Teno Valley - Day 7
Ivalo
This is a free day for your own activities, relaxation, or short exploration through the Arctic wilderness, with optional activities available if you want them. Lunch is served at the restaurant or as a picnic if you're out. The evening features a special traditional Lappish dinner in a rustic kota by the campfire with your host family, with regional specialties and stories about life in the far north.

Departure from Ivalo
After breakfast, you'll transfer to Ivalo Airport for your journey home or onward travel. If you want more time in the region, think about adding a few days in Helsinki for a nice Nordic conclusion to your trip.
