Cape Town

Boulders Beach - Cape of Good Hope
Drive out to Boulders Beach to see the famous African penguin colony waddling between granite rocks. From there, head to Cape Point for views over False Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. You can either take a scenic walk or ride the cog railroad to reach the summit.

Table Mountain
Start with a relaxed morning stroll through downtown Cape Town on Long Street, checking out boutiques and shops. After that, either spend time at Camps Bay Beach or head to the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.

Cape Town to Paternoster
Pick up your 4x4 rental and drive along South Africa's scenic west coast. Cape Columbine Nature Reserve
After waking to ocean sounds, explore the Cape Columbine Nature Reserve with rugged cliffs, secluded bays and hiking trails. Visit the highest lighthouse on the west coast for great views. You can optionally go kayaking where you might see seals and dolphins. Return to Paternoster for dinner with local seafood specialties like snoek and potjie, then take a magical beach walk under the stars.

Cederberg to Fish River Canyon, Namibia
Leave the Cederberg Mountains and drive across dusty trails toward the Namibia border. Sossusvlei

Return to the wilderness, driving along dusty tracks past Uis and the Brandberg. Stop to observe Herero women selling colorful handicrafts. Visit the ancient rock engravings of Twyfelfontein, a UNESCO site with indigenous art. With luck, encounter wild elephants crossing your path. Arrive at your glamping tent with steppe views, cozy beds and private bathroom. Relax by the campfire and count infinite stars.
