Itinerary
- Day 1
Celle - Hannover
You'll start by heading to Wolfsburg, a planned city built entirely around the Volkswagen factory. Your admission to Autostadt is included, so you can spend time exploring this massive automotive museum and experience center. From there, you'll travel to Celle to walk through the old town with its half-timbered houses and Renaissance castle. By mid-afternoon, you'll arrive in Hannover and have the chance to see how the capital mixes historic and modern architecture throughout the city.

- Day 2
Rammelsberg - Goslar - Göttingen - Bad Sooden - Eisenach
After breakfast, you're heading to the Rammelsberg Mines near Goslar, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where your museum admission is covered. The medieval old town of Goslar comes next, with its half-timbered buildings and St. Peter's Church to see. Then you'll travel through Göttingen, a historic university town where the Brothers Grimm once lived, before stopping in the spa town of Bad Sooden. You'll wrap up the day in Eisenach with its Baroque old town, and dinner is included.

- Day 3
Wartburg Castle - Gotha - Erfurt - Leipzig
This morning brings an included visit to Wartburg Castle, the UNESCO World Heritage Site sitting above Eisenach where Martin Luther translated the New Testament. You'll head back to Eisenach for free time to explore on your own, and the Bach House and Automobile Museum are available if you want to visit them. Next, you'll travel to Gotha to see its Baroque palace and historic center, then continue to Erfurt, Thuringia's capital. Erfurt has a grand cathedral and medieval old town with an interesting inhabited bridge. You should arrive in Leipzig by late afternoon, one of Germany's most culturally significant cities.

- Day 4
Monument to the Battle of the Nations - Dresden - Bamberg - Nuremberg
Starting from Leipzig, you'll first stop at the Monument to the Battle of the Nations, a 91-meter-tall structure marking a famous Napoleonic Wars battle. Then you're heading to Dresden, Saxony's capital, which has beautiful Baroque and Renaissance architecture, palaces, and nice walks along the Elbe River promenades. The route takes you into Bavaria next, where you'll check out Bamberg with its charming Little Venice district. You'll end the day in Nuremberg, Bavaria's second-largest city with significant historical importance.

- Day 5
Kelheim - Danube Cruise - Kloster Weltenburg - Dachau - Munich
You'll travel from Nuremberg to Kelheim and board an included boat cruise along the Danube Valley through the Danube Gorge, passing by the beautiful Kloster Weltenburg, a Benedictine monastery from 1040. Later you'll visit the Dachau Nazi concentration camp museum, then head to Munich. There you can explore BMW Welt, a modern exhibition space, and see the Olympiastadion from the 1972 Olympic Games. You'll have free time in Munich's historic center to walk around Marienplatz, visit the Viktualienmarkt, relax in the Englischer Garten, or experience traditional beer houses.
