Itinerary
- Day 1
Cusco to Machu Picchu
You'll board the Vistadome train from Cusco in the morning, and those panoramic windows really let you take in the valley views during the ride to Aguas Calientes. Once you arrive, a shuttle bus takes you up to Machu Picchu Citadel where your guide walks you through the upper terraces, shows you the agricultural sector, and takes you around the panoramic circuits so you get the full layout of the site. After exploring for several hours, you head back down and catch the return train to Cusco. On the way back, there's a fashion show onboard highlighting alpaca wool clothing and textiles. By evening you're back in Cusco, so it's a full day trip but you'll be done by nightfall.
