Campbell River
You'll arrive in Campbell River on Vancouver Island's central east coast and get transferred from the airport to your hotel. After settling in, the group gathers for a welcome briefing and dinner in town so everyone can meet and get oriented.

- Day 2
Campbell River to Telegraph Cove
Start the morning with a light hike through old-growth forest in Elk Falls Provincial Park, where you'll cross a suspension bridge and see an impressive waterfall. From there, it's a 2.5-hour drive north to Telegraph Cove with rest stops along the way and a packed lunch. Once you arrive at this charming 1912 fishing village, you have free time to wander through local shops and museums before dinner overlooking the harbour.

Telegraph Cove
This is a full-day sea kayaking tour on the Johnstone Strait with local guides leading you at a leisurely pace along the shoreline. Keep watch for seals, bald eagles, orcas, and humpback whales as you paddle through the channels. Lunch gets served on a remote beach or nearby island surrounded by the natural landscape and wildlife.

Telegraph Cove to Alert Bay
Travel to Port McNeill and board the ferry to Alert Bay on Cormorant Island, home to the 'Namgis First Nation. You'll explore the Big House, see the World's Tallest Totem Pole, and spend time at the U'Mista Cultural Centre checking out their collection of Indigenous masks and artifacts. After a private tour and free time at the Centre, you'll settle into your B&B for dinner overlooking the ocean with chances to spot wildlife and catch the sunset.

Alert Bay
Join Indigenous guides for a full-day wildlife tour into the channels and islands of the Broughton Archipelago and Great Bear Rainforest. Travel on a well-equipped vessel watching for grizzly bears, humpback whales, orcas, dolphins, eagles, black bears, and seabirds. Your guides share stories about the First Nations' connection to these lands and their sustainable wildlife viewing practices.

- Day 6
Alert Bay to Port Hardy
Begin with a leisurely walk through Alert Bay's Ecological Park forest trails. Then you'll participate in a cedar weaving workshop and cultural storytelling with local partners, followed by a cultural dance performance in the 'Namgis Traditional Big House (available Saturdays in July and August only). After that, board the ferry back to Vancouver Island and continue north to Port Hardy, checking into the Kwa'Lilas Hotel, which is owned and operated by the local First Nations.

Port Hardy
Drive towards Cape Scott Provincial Park on the northwestern tip of Vancouver Island, heading across the island via logging road to San Josef Bay. From there, you'll walk a boardwalk through dense forest to reach the beach. Spend several hours exploring the 2km stretch of shoreline, discovering sea stacks, tidal pools, and sea caves. Later, head back to Port Hardy for your final dinner at a local pub in town.

- Day 8
Port Hardy to Campbell River
After breakfast at the hotel, you have free time to explore Port Hardy town, including Fort Rupert and Storey's Beach, a historic Kwakiutl village site thought to have been home to First Nations people for over 8000 years. Then the drive south begins with a packed lunch on the road, and the tour ends when you arrive back in Campbell River.
