  Actually, I worked with our agent, Mina Abdelmalak, to design a custom tour of Germany. It was an excellent experience. Mina was very hands on, presented numerous options, helped me select the tours that best fit our interests (which wasn’t easy as it was a large group) and supported us every step of the way. Not only did Mina spend a lot of time planning, each day I received a message which instructions and copies of all the vouchers we would need. I never had to go digging for them. It turned out that one tour had been modified without notice to Mina or me.. Mina jumped on it immediately and within 48 hours I received appropriate compensation from the tour company. Mina booked all of our hotels and train fare. Everything was perfect. He checked with me every day to make sure all was going according to plan. My grandkids felt very spoiled too. All the tour guides in Germany were very good and one was exceptional. It was pretty much a perfect trip. Largely thanks to Mina’s hard work, I am now Super Grandma and we now have wonderful lifelong memories of our days together.Show more

  I was disappointed with the Germany tour for several reasons. Firstly I was expecting to be joined by a group as advertised it said a group of 9-10 ‘partially guided’. The only guidance was third party tours which weren’t anything to do with Tour Radar and we had to navigate our own way to and from these with no tour guide or group to help and at our own expense. The third party tour guides were excellent but it’s nothing we couldn’t have booked independently of Tour Radar. Some of the hotels were very budget and we felt unsafe walking through the streets of Frankfurt and Hamburg and this restricted us being able to explore the area fully. (Located within the red light district!!) There wasn’t anything about the tour which couldn’t have been booked ourselves with better choices of hotels and much cheaper. The only positive was the organised transfers and tours (only 5-6 hours over the whole 9 days) navigating 4 cities alone was not what I was expecting and I found it very stressful. Wouldn’t be doing anything like this again and wouldn’t recommend.Show more

This means that while you join group excursions each day, the guide and fellow travelers may change from one excursion to another. Between the scheduled tours,. This differs from a fully escorted tour, where the same tour leader and group remain together throughout the entire journey. We're pleased to hear that you enjoyed the third-party tour guides and the organized transfers. We understand, however, that this style of travel was not what you were expecting, and we're sorry that it caused you stress. Regarding the hotels, we sincerely regret that some locations did not make you feel comfortable.   STM Tours LLC are great at answering questions about the trip, highly responsive before/during, and refunded me for one of the cancelled tours. They were kind and detailed when answering questions. They did tell me I would be transported via their company vans, but they were just ubers they ordered. The tour groups they hired for the tours (Radius) were not as great. Guides were mostly informed on information, but were rude/dismissive to me whenever I had a question. I wore sweats since it was cold and I’m not sure if that part of the world just hates anyone that wears sweats outside, but sorry for being comfortable. The hotels they put me in were great in location in terms of being right next to the trains for convenience for travel to other places and food. The hotels were clean inside. HOWEVER, incredibly rude and inconsiderate staff - whenever I needed something simple as hot water at the Berlin and Munich hotels I was met with eye rolls and mumbling. A couple of times I asked for wake up calls, they did not do them (even mentioning them multiple times to make sure they had them written down and were going to do them). I accidentally spilled water once at the Ibis and was yelled at by reception - unacceptable behavior. I was told by STM that I could get breakfast boxes by all hotels but the Ibis told me “you can come down when breakfast is ready like everyone else here” and were unwilling to accommodate for guests. The Ibis would yell at me for taking “the wrong glasses” that were specific for breakfast when they did not communicate “rules” to begin with. The Ibis was in Berlin and I do not recommend that place to anyone. Both the Ibis and the Leonardo (in Munich) when asked about area recommendations had nothing to give me as a tourist which felt dismissive. One of the staff at the Leonardo laughed at me and told me “idk what you want me to do about that” when I mentioned my DND sign was taken from my door and had to ASK him for another. Why the attitude? Culture in general there was not friendly and was often disrespectful. I will probably not go back to STM since this was a mixed experience - appreciated the flexibility in my tour to do tours not at 6 AM and also the responsiveness in questions (resolution in issues, however, were often not met). Especially the places I stayed at could have been way better.Show more

Regarding transportation, we apologize for any misunderstanding. In some destinations, we use company vehicles when available, and in other cases we arrange licensed transfers through local partners such as Uber or similar services to ensure punctuality and safety. As for the breakfast boxes, kindly note that hotels only provide them when guests have very early departures—typically before breakfast hours (e.g., 5–7 AM). Unfortunately, hotels do not offer breakfast boxes for departures later in the morning, such as around 10 or 11 AM, since the breakfast buffet is already available at that time. We apologize if there was any confusion about this. We are truly sorry that the cultural interactions you experienced in Germany were unpleasant. While this is not something directly within our control, we understand how it can impact an overall trip.
