Launceston
You're arriving in Launceston for a two-night stay, joining the group on day 5 of the itinerary. This is your entry point into Tasmania's northern region, and you'll have time to settle in and get oriented with your fellow travelers before activities begin.

Start at Cataract Gorge, where you'll ride the chairlift across the South Esk River and walk the scenic grounds. After that, head to Josef Chromy winery for a guided tour followed by lunch with wine pairings. The whole day balances outdoor scenery with food and wine, so plan for a relaxed pace.

Travel through Sheffield, a dairy farming town known for its murals and local history. From there, you'll stop at Burnie and Penguin to see the rugged coastline, then continue to Stanley's quiet charm. By evening, you'll arrive in Smithton on the edge of the Tarkine wilderness area for the night.

Cradle Mountain

Queenstown - Strahan
Your local guide shares stories about early settlers while you take in views of Cradle Mountain and Dove Lake. The drive to Queenstown passes through more mountain country, and by afternoon you'll reach Strahan on the west coast for a two-night stay in this quiet coastal town.

Strahan

Mt Field National Park - Hobart
See the 'Wall in the Wilderness', a hand-carved wood sculpture depicting Central Tasmanian Highland history. Then walk through Mt Field National Park's rainforest to view Russell Falls' three tiers. After this, you'll drive back to Hobart for a two-night stay and have time to explore the harbor with its restaurants, pubs, and working fishing boats.

Hobart
Pick from five included options: the Red Decker Bus Tour with hop-on hop-off stops, a guided Hobart and Huon Valley tour with local produce lunch, a MONA ferry to see the Museum of Old and New Art, or an Iron Pot cruise down the Derwent River to Battery Point. Evening brings a farewell dinner at the Drunken Admiral on Old Wharf.
