    Brussels

    You'll arrive in Brussels with the day ahead of you to do as you please. Take your time sampling the city's hearty food and trying some of the famous Belgian beer that the city's known for. There's no set schedule, so you can wander at your own pace and get a feel for the place.

  2. Day 2

    Brussels to Ghent

    A guided tour takes you through Brussels to see the Town Hall and walk around the Lower Town where you'll find local bars, cafés, and shops to check out. After exploring on foot, you'll head to the ship in the evening and board for dinner while sailing toward Ghent.

The ship sails to Middelburg in the evening.

You can have lunch onboard while cruising to Veere, or bike there with your Adventure Host. Once there, a local guide shows you around before you sail to Rotterdam that evening.

    You'll dock in Zaandam with free time to explore. During tulip season, Keukenhof gardens are worth the visit, but if you're traveling outside that season, head to Zaanse Schans to see the historic windmills and Dutch houses. Later you'll cruise to Haarlem for lunch and spend time in this flower-bulb growing district and former North Sea trading port. The ship sails to Amsterdam as evening comes.

    We would like to thank our Statesman Attendee that took care of all our needs in our room 107. He was friendly and did an amazing job, Marisio our waiter served us with the highest respect and friendliness. Over all Avalon have very good staff and always a smile- nothing too much trouble. The ship was so clean, food was spectacular. We had a surprise group of singers Gwen and Charles who brought great entertainment. The other entertainer was amazing. Loved the top deck BBQ. We met lots of new friends aboard. Thank you Avalon for a trip well executed.
