- Day 1
Tangier
You'll arrive in Tangier via ferry or airport, where your driver meets you. Depending on when you get in, you can check out Cap Spartel Lighthouse and the Grottes d'Hercule caves. The historic Medina is worth walking through, particularly the 15th-century Portuguese fortress walls and the Kasbah Museum. Timing really depends on your arrival, so your guide will help figure out what fits.

Tangier to Chefchaouen
The drive from Tangier to Chefchaouen takes you through the Rif Mountains. Once you arrive in the Blue City, you'll find buildings painted in varying shades of blue throughout the medina's narrow winding streets. There's local crafts to see, and the overall vibe is quite different from the coastal area you just left. Plan on spending time just wandering around and soaking in the atmosphere.

- Day 3
Chefchaouen to Al-Hoceima
This morning you head east along the Mediterranean coast, passing through beaches at Steha, Jabha, and Cala Iris on your way to Al-Hoceima National Park. You'll stop in Targha, a historic pirate village with a 13th-century mosque, then move on to El-Jebha with its distinctive blue-and-white buildings. By late afternoon you'll reach Al-Hoceima to relax on sandy beaches or explore the nearby natural reserves.

Al-Hoceima to Fes
After leaving Al-Hoceima, you travel south through Taza in the Rif Mountains. The landscape shifts pretty dramatically as you go from coastal views to fertile plains and rolling hills. Arriving in Fes, you'll find yourself in what many consider the cultural and spiritual center of Morocco, where old traditions and modern life coexist in this ancient city.

Fes
With a local guide, you'll explore Fes' ancient medina, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The tanneries are something else entirely. Later in the day you can choose between having a homemade meal at Lalla Aicha's place in Sefrou or trying out a traditional Moroccan hammam spa.

Fes to Midelt
You leave Fes traveling through Ifrane, which people call 'Little Switzerland' because of its European-style architecture. Then you continue through the Middle Atlas Mountains to Midelt. In the afternoon, you'll visit a local Berber nomad family in the Atlas Mountains to learn about their traditional lifestyle and customs, and you'll have lunch with them, trying their traditional food.

Midelt to Merzouga
You'll drive through the scenic Ziz Valley with date palm oases and Berber villages along the way. Erfoud is known for fossil finds and its traditional markets, so you might spend some time there. After that, you head to Merzouga and the vast Sahara dunes where you'll store any extra baggage. From there you'll do a camel trek into the desert to catch the sunset, then spend the night at a desert camp with Berber hospitality and traditional music.

Merzouga to Dades Gorges
You'll wake early to see the sunrise over the dunes, then ride camels for about an hour back out of the desert. After that, head to Risani, a historical trading hub that used to be important for commerce. Later you'll go through the dramatic Todgha Gorge with towering limestone cliffs, then continue to the Dades Gorges. The Dades Valley has all these kasbahs and traditional Berber villages scattered around.

Leaving the Dades Gorges, you'll head to Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO-listed ksar with maze-like streets and mud-brick houses. Then comes the High Atlas Mountains and the Tizi n'Tichka Pass, which reaches over 2,200 meters. From up there you get views of snow-capped peaks, green valleys, terraced hillsides, and Berber villages below. You'll arrive in Marrakech by evening, a city where old traditions and modern elements really mix together.
