Los Angeles
You'll arrive in Los Angeles and pick up your rental car (booked separately). From there, drive to your hotel and get settled in for your first night. This is a good time to grab dinner somewhere near your accommodation and rest up before hitting the road.

Palm Springs
You'll head inland through the desert to reach Palm Springs, the area where Hollywood celebrities often escape. There's time to walk through the town and check out local shops, or if you're up for it, you can take the cable car up Mt. San Jacinto to see across several different climate zones. The views from up there really show how varied the landscape is, and on a clear day you'll see far across the valley.

- Day 3
Palm Springs - Joshua Tree - Grand Canyon
Head out from Palm Springs and drive through Joshua Tree National Park, where you'll see thousands of Joshua trees dotting the landscape. After that, continue on to the Grand Canyon, where you can take time to look out at the massive gorge carved by the Colorado River. The size of it really hits you when you see it in person.

Page - Lake Powell - Grand Canyon
Start the day taking in views of the Grand Canyon from various scenic viewpoints, then continue to Page and Lake Powell where red sandstone walls surround everything. You'll stop at Horseshoe Bend to see the Colorado River's distinctive curve from above, and then head to either Upper or Lower Antelope Canyon where a guide will take you through the slot canyon formations. Both are worth seeing, though they offer different experiences.

Bryce Canyon National Park
You'll drive north on Highway 89 heading toward Bryce Canyon National Park. On the way, there's an option to stop at Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park near Kanab if time allows. Once at Bryce, you can explore the hoodoos, those unique sandstone formations that make the park special. Multiple hiking trails let you get among them or view from above, depending on what suits you.

Zion National Park - Las Vegas
Stop at Zion National Park early in the day to walk through the dramatic canyons and gorge landscape. Then drive toward Las Vegas, arriving by evening. Take a stroll through the brightly lit downtown area to get a feel for the city. You'll spend two nights here, so this is just your first one.

Las Vegas
Spend the day exploring Las Vegas at your own pace. Walk the Strip and check out the themed hotels and casinos, try gambling if you want, or head to the downtown district which has its own charm. Evening entertainment options are available depending on what interests you.

Death Valley National Park
Driving through Death Valley National Park, you'll see landscapes that shift dramatically with dune-like terrain and red rock formations. The park shows contrasts between some of the lowest and highest points around, so the scenery changes noticeably as you travel. There's a lot of geological variety packed into this area.

Yosemite National Park
From here you're traveling to your main destination for several days of exploration. If you're on the Standard or Superior package, you'll head to Yosemite National Park with 2 nights of accommodation included. Economy package visitors go to Sequoia National Park first, then continue to Visalia for 1 night before heading out.

Yosemite National Park
You've got a full day in Yosemite National Park, one of the oldest national parks and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There's Tunnel View for big panoramic vistas, and you'll see Half Dome and El Capitan from various spots. Walking through the giant redwood groves at Tuolumne or Merced Grove shows you the massive trees, and Taft Point offers different perspectives of the valley and surrounding formations.

Muir Woods - San Francisco
Head out to Muir Woods National Monument, about 30 km north of San Francisco, where you'll see massive redwood trees that reach up to 75 meters tall. After walking among those giants, you'll continue to San Francisco proper via the Golden Gate Bridge and settle in for 2 nights in the city. The contrast between the quiet forest and the urban energy of San Francisco makes for an interesting transition.

- Day 12
San Francisco
You'll explore San Francisco's main attractions, many of which are walkable or accessible by cable car. Head to Fisherman's Wharf, Union Square, and wander through neighborhoods like Little Italy and Chinatown. You can also walk through the area near the Golden Gate Bridge to see the famous views.

San Francisco - San Luis Obispo
Drive south along Highway 1, one of the most scenic coastal routes in California. Stop in Monterey or Carmel for lunch and a walk along the beach. From there, pass by Hearst Castle, the grand 1920s mansion built by newspaper publisher William Randolph Hearst. Arrive in San Luis Obispo for the night.

San Luis Obispo - Santa Barbara - Los Angeles
Drive south through Solvang and on to Santa Barbara on what's known as the Californian Riviera. Check out the old mission church, walk through idyllic spots, and browse boutique shops and restaurants. Later, continue driving to Los Angeles for your final night, wrapping up your road trip.
