Toronto Departure
You'll head to the station and board VIA Rail's The Canadian train, which departs at 11:30 PM. This is where your cross-Canada rail journey begins, so arrive with enough time to get settled into your cabin and get oriented before departure.
- Day 2
Canadian Shield - Muskoka Lakes
Spend the day watching the rugged Canadian Shield landscape roll past your window. You'll pass by thousands of lakes in the Muskoka region and see the train make stops at small wilderness communities and whistle stops as it travels north of the Great Lakes. It's a quiet, reflective kind of day where you can relax in your seat or grab meals in the dining car.
