The yellow rice fields in Sapa have all been harvested before mid-September. If you go to Sapa on your expected date, you will have higher opportunity for cloud hunting than rice fields. The weather in Sapa will be much more comfortable and chilling on your expected travel date than now.

Is there anyway to add in a visit to Fanispan Peak via cable car?

If you want to add in a visit to Fansipan peak, we can move the "Tram Ton - Thac Bac" trip from day 3 to day 2, then you can go to Fansipan on day 3. The additional cost for it is $90/person

The local tour programs and their guides were excellent as described here: Mr. Ha Chu guided us March 9-10 to Nihn Binh and around Hanoi. Very knowledgeable, friendly and punctual. Conveyed a fine sentiment of Vietnam history and strive for peace, as well as introduction to local customs. Top rating. Mr. Ben guided us March 13-14 to Mekong Delta, Cuchi tunnels and around Ho-Chi Min city. Very knowledgeable, friendly and punctual. Conveyed a fine sentiment of Vietnam history and "fight for peace", as well as introduction to local customs. Top rating. The group tour and guiding in Ha Long bay also had excellent program and guide. Very comfortable luxury boat, except our room had noise from generator. Management of trip was also very good with punctual information on pick ups etc. It would have been nice with more booking information on included flight Hanoi-Ho-Chi Min City, so we could know that dinner would be served, and we might have selected seats. But it worked out fine in the end. Now only one drive left.Show more

The city hotels were super central and the other ones nice as well. We had a brilliant time. (The only thing we wished for was one additional day in every location, but that was us not having enough time off ;-)Show more

  I've read that there is more chance to see the golden rice fields in Mai Chau region till late October, since the region is mostly in a valley. Can you confirm this?

  In Mai Chau, late October is the time the local farmers harvesting the rice field crops. You will have chance to not only sightsee the ethereal yellow rice fields waiting to be harvested, but also can join the local farmers to try harvesting the rice and partake in local agritourism activities.
