Morocco is a diverse country, and this itinerary covers a wide range of destinations, including imperial cities, the Mediterranean and Atlantic coasts, the Middle and High Atlas Mountains, the Sahara Desert, valleys, and traditional villages. Some travel days are longer than others, but the journeys are planned with regular sightseeing, photography, refreshment, and comfort stops so that the driving is part of the overall experience rather than simply transportation between hotels.
For two travelers, we normally use a comfortable, modern, air-conditioned small van with eight passenger seats. The vehicle provides considerably more space than a standard car, allowing you to stretch your legs and keep your personal belongings comfortably inside the vehicle. Because there will only be two guests, both of you will be able to select window seats. You will not need to share the vehicle with other travelers, as this is a fully private tour. You may also change seats during the journey whenever you wish to enjoy different views from either side of the vehicle. The vehicle is operated by a professional and experienced English-speaking driver who is familiar with the itinerary, road conditions, scenic viewpoints, and appropriate rest stops.
For budgeting purposes, you may consider the following approximate costs per person: Lunch at a local restaurant: Around USD 15–30. Lunch at a more upscale restaurant: Around USD 40–50. Dinner at a local or riad restaurant: Around USD 15–25. Dinner at an upscale restaurant: Around USD 30–50. Beverages, especially alcoholic drinks, are normally charged separately. Traditional Moroccan meals such as tagine, couscous, grilled meats, salads, soups, and pastilla are widely available. Your driver can recommend good-quality restaurants according to your preferences and budget. A comfortable daily meal budget would generally be approximately USD 40–75 per person for lunch and dinner combined, excluding alcoholic beverages. Travelers choosing higher-end restaurants may wish to budget approximately USD 60–90 per person per day. Some dinners may already be included in the tour package, particularly at the Sahara Desert camp and certain accommodations in remote areas.
