  A fantastic way to experience Albania I highly recommend the Pearls of Albania tour with Choose Balkans to anyone who wants to experience as much of Albania as possible in one trip. What I really liked about this itinerary is how complete and varied it is. It doesn’t focus on just one side of Albania. You experience the mountains and nature in Theth, historic cities such as Shkodra, Berat and Gjirokastër, the Blue Eye, the archaeological site of Butrint, and then a completely different atmosphere along the coast in Ksamil, Himarë, Dhërmi and the Albanian Riviera, before continuing through Vlorë and Durrës and finishing in Tirana. There are also some great local experiences along the way, including agritourism, traditional food and an olive-oil tasting. Personally, I’m already quite familiar with olive oil and olive-oil tasting, so I decided to skip that particular experience and spend more time at Dhërmi Beach instead. I really appreciated having that flexibility, and for me it was absolutely the right choice. The extra time relaxing and enjoying Dhërmi was one of the highlights of the coastal part of the trip. A special thanks to our tour guide, Mirsad, who was awesome throughout the trip. He was extremely helpful, friendly and always there whenever we needed anything. He really contributed to making the whole experience enjoyable and stress-free, and I genuinely appreciated his help and positive attitude throughout the tour. For me, the biggest strength of this tour is that it really covers everything: history, culture, mountains, countryside, beaches, food and local life. You get a very good overview of Albania in only eight days without having to organize all the transportation and stops yourself. If you’re visiting Albania for the first time and want to see the different sides of the country in one trip, I would definitely recommend this itinerary and Choose Balkans — and if you get Mirsad as your guide, you’re in great hands!Show more

  My wife and I had an absolutely fantastic experience on the 7-Day Self-Guided Peaks of the Balkans Tour with Choose Balkans. The entire trip was exceptionally well organized from start to finish, allowing us to fully enjoy one of the most beautiful hiking regions we have ever visited. The landscapes throughout Albania, Kosovo and Montenegro were simply breathtaking. Every day offered stunning mountain scenery, authentic villages and unforgettable hiking experiences. It was truly a week we will remember for a long time. A special thanks goes to Brikena, who provided outstanding support before and during the tour. Communication was excellent at all times. We received helpful weather briefings, all our questions were answered promptly, and we always felt well informed and taken care of. We were also impressed by the quality of Choose Balkans’ local partners. Transfers and accommodations were arranged perfectly, and everyone involved was well informed about our itinerary. In most cases, simply mentioning that we were traveling with Choose Balkans was enough, and everything worked smoothly with excellent service. As this was a self-guided trek through remote mountain areas, some accommodations were naturally more basic, reflecting the rural surroundings and local conditions. However, they were authentic, welcoming and exactly what we expected from this type of adventure. Overall, we can highly recommend Choose Balkans to anyone looking for a professionally organized and memorable Peaks of the Balkans experience. Thank you for an unforgettable week!Show more
