Itinerary
- Day 1
Berat
Your guide picks you up from your Tirana hotel early morning and you'll head toward Berat, a UNESCO World Heritage site known locally as the 'town of 1001 windows.' Once there, walk through the medieval stone streets where old houses line the narrow passages, then make your way up to the castle where people still actually live inside the walls today. You'll see several historic churches and mosques scattered throughout the old town, each with their own character and stories. After spending time in the castle area, head down to the Gorica Neighbourhood to see how the other side of town developed. On the drive back to Tirana, you'll pass Belsh Lake where you can stop for a bit and either take a walk along the promenade or grab coffee at one of the cafes there before heading back to your hotel.
