View in EnglishThe cruise experience was very good, and especially the ship's crew and the guide assigned to us for the whole week (Miguel), with whom we were only the two of us, treated us great and were very friendly and attentive throughout our stay there. While it is true that we were initially assigned a room that was not the one we had contracted (two separate beds vs. a double bed) and we had to claim it to Tour Radar, as there were no normal options available they upgraded us to the suite so that we could have the double bed as requested and paid for. On the other hand, the food was very good, very varied because every day is different and with healthy options (salads, vegetables, legumes and fruit). The ship (Solaris II, we had to ask for photos but they did not confirm name in writing until we got there) is not a new ship, it is a bit old and that is noticeable in general in all the facilities, but it is clean and the common areas have a lot of light (terrace, lounges and dining room). We would have liked to be able to have more time in the visits to the temples because we were very short the time we spent in some of them, and it would be good if the visiting time did not coincide with the rest of the cruises or at least not with all of them, as far as possible. In the end you end up visiting the tourist sites full of people instead of better distributing the capacities so that, although there are many people, the visit is more enjoyable.Show more

We were two friends and were lucky enough to travel with our lovely guide Achmed, who spoke very good German and always responded to our individual wishes. We mostly traveled in a small car or in a carriage (always in pairs with guide and driver). The temples are absolutely unique - but the entrance tickets have to be paid for separately on site by card. The support before and during the trip was excellent, and everything ran smoothly via WhatsApp. The cabins on the ship were clean, but the shower was often either too hot or too cold. The pool deck didn't look very inviting to me, but there are loungers where you can relax in the sun. The food was okay, but we found the drinks prices to be significantly overpriced - a bottle of water cost 200 EGP (about 10 EGP in the supermarket). However, the staff were friendly and attentive throughout. Massages are also offered on board. The ship was clean and the cabins were tidy (though for anyone over 6ft tall you'll be squatting in the shower lol). The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Most of the meals were buffet style with various cuisine options each day, little to no snack other than bar peanuts between meals which were typically 5 AM for breakfast, 1 PM for lunch and 8 PM for dinner. My fiance and I had private tours each day, excluding the day trip to Abu Simbel, which we enjoyed but that may have been just due to the season that we traveled and being the only American passengers at that time. Minimal activities offered during cruise time so bring games or some forms of entertainment.
