I was wondering how much it cost extra to have a domestic flight for 2 persons from Luxor to Cairo, instead of the sleeper train. Also, what are the names of the hotels in Aswan and Luxor please?

we use 5- star hotel in cairo ( tolip gardens) / Aswan hotel ( old Nubian luxury guesthouse) - the flight upgrade from luxor to cairo with one night hotel accommodation with breakfast and all transfers from to airports will cost USD $190 per person.

The guides were great, Naser in Cairo and Hasan in Aswan and Luxor was brilliant, very helpful and informative. Accommodation in all places was good, clean a d spacious except the guest house in Aswan. Tony was quite nice and he changed it to a proper hotel the next morning. The black & white dessert safari was quite interesting especially camping, sleeping under the clear full of stars sky was fun and unique experience. Felucca sailing in Aswan on Niel river was really good. Thank you team.Show more

Accommodation in all places was good, clean a d spacious, the overnight sleeper train was an experience, staff great on the train, cabin a little small for two but we just went with the flow. We really enjoyed our Egypt tour. We found our guides to be friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The itinerary was excellent- we were very happy that we ended up choosing a tour with the Bahariya Oasis and White Desert instead of a tour that goes to Hurghada. The accommodation was mostly excellent, though we had some problems with the Tolip Gardens Hotel, namely that the water went out in the evening for over 5 hours on the first night, and no one could tell us when it would come back. We loved being able to set our own pace and choose the add-ons that were right for us- would highly recommend the sunrise ballooning in Luxor. For my husband, the felucca ride down the Nile was the highlight of the entire trip. For me, it was probably the temple at Karnak, or the tour of the brand new Grand Egyptian Museum. Honestly, there were some issues with communication among the tour organizers. The primary problem was being taken to the airport at 4 AM for a 6 AM flight, only to find out that the flight had been canceled and no one communicated it to us. We were then put on an 830 AM flight, and it did not seem to negatively impact our schedule, but getting up at 3 AM for no reason was frustrating. To their credit, the company bent over backwards to make it right with us, and we were very pleased with their willingness to do so. Overall, we would recommend this tour company to others. They are friendly, flexible, and worked hard to ensure our happiness. Ahmed, if your baby has been born by now- HUGE congratulations to you and your wife!!Show more

This is a very comprehensive tour of the highlights of Egypt. However, it was quite fast paced; and in a crowded country with lots of other people including tourists, it may be challenging for those who are hearing or mobility impaired. Besides the archaeological sites and temples, one of the highlights of the tour was the white desert. This was so beautiful, but understand that when you camp overnight, it is bare bones camping not glamping in any fashion. The Nubian village add on tour had a nice cruise down the Nile but at the village it was mainly a marketplace. The cultural experience was a bit lackluster. Overall the operators in each city, our drivers and guides were excellent, especially Marwa, our guide in Cairo, who was exceptional! We realize that five star hotels in other countries can be variable so please understand that it may not be equivalent to five star hotels that you are used to. The place in Luxor was fabulous, but the place in Cairo was a bit dated and quite far away from anything that is walkable. You need to Uber. The only other comment would be that a more detailed itinerary with approximate times involved in car travel would have been appreciated so that we can be better prepared for the journey. There are many hours riding in a mini bus or car that may not be ideal for some. Overall, we had a good experience with AB Voyages. However, we wanted to be transparent for others that follow so that they are better suited to know what to expect when they arrive.Show more
