Normally I curate and book my own adventures, however this trip I decided to try a tour operator. This was the biggest mistake of my trip. For the money we paid and the total lack of organization - I would not recommend this to anyone. Day 1) we flew in a day early because of the issues airlines can have with delays - we actually changed our flight for this. We were to have airport transfer, but because we came in a day early we were left on our own. All other tours we booked accommodated an early arrival. Hence we had to pay extra there. But that was not a big issue, we were just confused with the process and trying to manage our luggage in our own, whereas a pick up would have been more helpful 2) day 1 of activity was very nice 3) Day 2 we took the ferry to Isabela where our guide was to meet us on the pier at 9:30 for the wetlands tour so we were dressed for hiking. When we arrived the guide said we were doing a snorkeling tour. We were not dressed for snorkeling so we were told a guide would be by to pick us up at 11 from our hotel. We make our way to the hotel and patiently wait until 11:30. At this point we contact the tour operator and she says she will look into it. We get a message right back that a guide will be there at 1:30-1:45 and we should go get lunch. Now I’m not happy as we had planned our own activity in the afternoon. I let her know this was unprofessional, but she just says you will get your tour. 1:45Show more

Ladies and gentlemen, according to your comment, the following should be emphasized: The pick-up drivers have to pick up more tourists. So if someone leaves too late, the whole planning is messed up. Also, the pick-up drivers are coordinators and not guides, so many of them only speak Spanish. On each activity we have a specialized guide who is regulated by the Galapagos National Park. You state that you lost a lot of time, which was not the case as you did all the activities according to the program. When we talked via WhatsApp, everything was fine for you and there were no misunderstandings as you just mentioned. Please note that your reservation was last minute and yet we did it in the best possible way and even provided you with complimentary bottles of wine in the two hotels, which was not included in your program. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 40 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
