    Asked on August 21st, 2024

I am interested in a tour this October 2024 for about 10 to 14 days. I was wondering if you have any tours that visit Gasa Dzong or if that could be added to one of the other tours. I am a solo traveler and would be interested in joining a group so I can be with other travelers but can do the Gasa Dzong portion on my own.

    Travel Support
    • Bhutan Acorn Tours & TravelOperatorWritten August 2024

While our standard tours do not feature a visit to Gasa Dzong, we can certainly tailor any tour to include it. There is a nice hot spring Gasa. September to November is a high season. Since we do not have fixed departure dates, it is quite uncommon for us the receive multiple bookings for the same tour departing on the same dates. Therefore, you may have to do the trip solo.

    Asked on October 26th, 2023

How fast is the visa process for the 09/11 group?

    Visa
    • Bhutan Acorn Tours & TravelOperatorWritten October 2023

The visa process can be completed in just 4-5 business days, provided that you have all the required documents. You need to book the tour by October 28 to have enough time to process visa and organize logistics.

Is safe drinking water provided every day?

    • Bhutan Acorn Tours & TravelOperatorWritten September 2023

While we can run the tour throughout the year, December and January are peak winter months and the weather in the mountains will be cold. Of course, it is nothing compared to some parts of Canada and it is very much manageable with warm clothing. The weather usually remains clear with beautiful views of snow-capped mountains most of the time, but we may have some snowfall in the high mountain passes and sometimes there could be roadblocks for a couple of hours.

    • Bhutan Acorn Tours & TravelOperatorWritten September 2023

You do not need to bring sleeping bags as this trip does not involve any camping. The information provided is for general purposes and applies only if the trip has camping.

    • Bhutan Acorn Tours & TravelOperatorWritten September 2023

Yes, we provide bottled mineral water at the restaurant as well as in the car. Some hotels also provide 1 free bottled mineral water per person per night.

We have decided on the Essence of Bhutan, in March 2024, to coincide with at least some of the kids' school holidays, (March 9 - 17). I am thinking of March 6 - 17, however the departure date depends entirely on if we can get flights from YYZ. I discovered that if we were to go through KTM, we would need to first fly through DEL. At this point Canadian Nationals are unable to obtain even a transit visa through DEL. I wonder if you have any other ideas on how we could get from YYZ to PBH, and in a reasonable time period.

I see that it says starts in Taktsang, and ends in Paro, but on the brochure it says the Taktsang hike is on day 9. As we live at sea level, we would need to have the hike at the end of the tour.
