  Algeria is a truly beautiful country, full of stunning and diverse places. From historic cities to breathtaking desert landscapes, every destination felt unique and memorable. The Sahara Desert is absolutely spectacular, and the ancient petroglyphs are fascinating and unforgettable. Timimoun especially stood out with its distinctive architecture and special atmosphere. Mohammed, who showed us the city was extremely kind, respectful, and very helpful. The Algerian people are very kind, welcoming, and hospitable. While English is not widely spoken (most people communicate in Arabic or French), the warmth and generosity of the locals made the experience meaningful. I would like to especially mention Omar, the guide from Algiers, who was extremely knowledgeable, kind, and professional. He showed me the city with great care, shared delicious local food, and taught me so much about Algeria and its culture. I also want to thank our driver, Bouhafs, who was incredibly kind and accommodating. He went above and beyond to make sure we traveled safely to all locations and that I was comfortable at all times — including sharing my favorite local tea and delicious desserts. Mr. Azzedine also stayed in frequent communication to ensure everything followed the program smoothly. Overall, it was a very interesting and enriching experience, and I’m glad I decided to visit this beautiful and unique country.Show more

  Hello Mr Dick, Many thanks for your review.Really I am surprised about the remarks which are totally not objective at all about the tour.Why have not spoken about the warm welcome ?the much food ?the extra money paid by the agency at restaurants for your bills ?the extra time spent until midnight to serve you?Why have not you spoken about the small group of 3 in a 11 days tour ? We (as a team) were working around the clock to serve you .Concerning overall evaluation, which is not fair ,if we gather all stars you gave us about our services and we divide ,we get more than One(1) point out of five (5) given to us (at least 2,5 should be the result despite it is not fair ) . As Algeria is a contienent like ,we need much time to drive from town to town,so I think ,we included in details, all these information ,about distance in the programme sent to you with the boarding document (visa).Concerning transportation,among the cars ,served during the tour,are Jumper Expert (2023), 4X4 Vehicles, Planes( 2 domestic flights) .To inform you,all the guides are English speaking guides with postgraduate degrees (six out of eight guides at least)but your English is colloquial ,so yours is not a standard English .Consequently there should be a misunderstanding.   I realize that Algeria is little traveled by tourists compared to Morocco and Egypt and it really shows. The government does not really care about convenience for visitors judging by the onerous security requirements and visa requirements. This being the case, tour companies must be on their best game to compensate. This sadly is not case based on my 10 days. Golea Tours 8 days focuses exclusively on central Algeria, a beautiful if remote area requiring long drives and two domestic flights. I chose this particular tour because a day in Algiers would seeing that beautiful city with some great sites. Unfortunately I did have this opportunity because most of my time in Algiers was spent at the airport waiting for rides. I probably should get a partial refund for not having any real time in the capital which should be a PRIORITY. My connecting flight from Paris was also delayed causing me to miss my connecting domestic flight and having a generally miserable experience. I had to purchase my own ticket again with limited cash, making the trip more difficult because credit cards can't be used and local banks don't allow ATM withdrawals. The tour company probably should have bought the ticket because I paid them to do so. The four or so sites like Golea, Ghardaia, etc nice and had much history. The guides were nice as a whole but often had difficulty with English. I was able to use German during one stop. The most glaring shortcoming was a lack of general professionalism. I don't believe the managers are properly trained in facilitating tourism and I had the impression that they were "doing me a favor" when we repeatedly had to ask for daily plans, dinner plans and so on. The staff seemed distracted at times, focusing on other jobs, chatting with friends etc. I really that some of this is cultural but improvement can and must be made. Just having a driver at a spot rather than having to wait an hour, would really make this a tour rather than a haphazard collection of activities carried out by random people. I probably should give this tour a 2 star review but I dont believe the company acted with malice. It really needs to improve planning and basic tourist service practices however.Show more

Many thanks for your remarks ,though they are surprising .We are a travel agency and not a government barnch (executive one) or representative ,so other matters are not our responsibility . Every country has its policy to run and Algeria has done a lot to encourage and ease tourism ;sustainable tourism and not massive tourism ,especially if applied through registered travel agencies as ours . Lots of tourists are attracted by the welcome warm of Algerians and find rest during their tours .All our tours are advised at Tourradar or our websites (in details) and it is the responsibility of the client to choose the convenient tour and our duty to clear all ambigious points (we answered all your questions ou asked either via tourradar ,email or whatsapp) . I was very annoyed to know about the payment of the plane ticket for your domestic flight to Ghardaia which was paid in advance by the the company since April 25 2025 ( Ticket number: 124 2437531629) and sent to you via whatsapp to the mobile number supplied by you on May 29 2025 (at 13h12) . Also you have forgotten to mention that despite your arrived late from Paris (in the first day) ,we struggled (me and the driver) to find you a last minute booking in a 3 star hotel and the driver (of the agency) who served you until 23h00 for no extra money (which was paid by the agency ).Our guides are trained to spreak standard English and not colloquial ,so sometimes they get a little bit confusion to understand some clients.Algeria is a continent and needs more days to visit . Every matter was explained about the tour ,have you requested information about the tour and refused to supply you with ? Have you informed us that Algiers is a priority to advise you about the convenient tour ? Haven't we respected the programme purshased ? Have you requested our advice as many do to advice you about the leaving time when you booked your return ticket ? have you requested a necessary help and we did not provide as a staff ?As a director of the agency ,I met you two times in two days when you were in my hometown and the general plan was sent to you before coming to Algeria with the necessary explanation (day by day and hour per hour ) in general with the boarding document (visa) .I think in a private tour (of about 3 persons) ,you will pay 6 times the price you paid with our agency . Travelling to different countries of different cultures is the main goal otherwise no one travels if to get the same in ours. I think ,my agency respected the tour programme and we did more to satisfy you but if you do not want to recognise we are unable to oblige you . We are very disappointed (as a team) of these remarks because you showed your appreciation in Algeria about the service and what we have done but what you have written is totally the opposite ,either about my country or service and efforts.

  Travelled late March 2025, inadvertently in late Ramadan which caused Azzedine, the tour company owner, some trouble to ensure that I was fed during the day, but it worked and the hospitality shown by the guides and their families after sunset was great. Sukran. The itinerary was excellent and we / I after Day 4 when the other 3 members of the party departed for Algiers saw mud forts, oases, wadis, prehistoric carvings / paintings and an insight into the way of life in the very isolated Saharan towns, Due to Ramadan, I was on more than one occasion the only hotel guests. The accommodation varied from near 4 star hotels to VERY basic room in guest house, the latter being all that was available in remote towns. Not everything worked out quite as planned but all was sorted in the end without too much anxiety. Following our armed police across the Sahara at 150kph in a 80kph speed zone was entertaining - no camels in the way! Alone in Bechar airport for 5 hours with my non-English speaking guide having departed and no airline ticket, but action by Azzedine and the wonders of Whatsapp (do buy a cheap data SIM card on arrival in Algiers - 12 euro for 70Gb!) and all was OK. Another guest advised that the hotel in Algiers left something to be desired in terms of location and cleanliness, but a call to Azzedine and another hotel was booked. I can commend the guides Yahei, Ahmed and Omar who were simply great - friendly, honourable and well informed. So at times, an exciting trip but much to my liking - the total lack of tourists during Ramadan may freak some out but I loved the solitude in the desert. As we say in Wales, diolch yn fawr.
