  We had the most amazing time on the Silk Road of Central Asia tour. From the time we were picked up from the airport to drop off, arrangements were beyond seamless and we went through multiple border crossings including Turkmenistan. All the guides and drivers, Mirza Baig, Rifat, Ikram, Victoria, Aziz, Shobat, Murad, Feroz, Firengez, Jamshed, Farziboy, Gucc, apologies, missing few names, and I might be misspelling, made sure that we had a great time ..everyone went above and beyond the standard tour.. with vegetarian food help, drop offs pick ups, to options during free time..so much history, architecture, landscapes all beyond words or pictures. All five countries were amazing and so much to offer, soft spoken wonderful people sharing their 1000+ years of history!! We were celebrating our 30th anniversary and it just could not have been better…Thank you for making this one our most memorable experience!!Show more

  I travelled with seven other people on the tour of the five "-Stans". (Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrkystan, Turministan and Tajikistan). Pilgrim travel and Tour Radar did an excellent job of organizing the trip. Because we travelled to five different countries, it required organizing eight different guides and eight different drivers but every driver and every guide was available at the correct time and each was professoinal in their own way. As always, some guides were better than others but none were bad. The only negative thing i might say about this trip is that not every day was full, there were many days where we only spent part of the day on a tour yet we changed hotels nearly every day. So there were several instances where we had to check out of our hotel, store our luggage, spend a few hours on a tour, then have six or more hours of free time without a hotel room available to us to freshen up or relax before moving on to our next stop. Having a place to "anchor" during long periods of free time would have been nice.Show more

We’re glad to hear that the coordination across borders went smoothly and that our team of guides and drivers was able to support your journey professionally. Managing eight guides and drivers across five countries is no small task, and your recognition of that effort means a lot to us. Regarding your comment about having long free periods after hotel check-outs: we completely understand how this may feel inconvenient, especially on days with later departures. However, this is often due to the limited availability of flights or trains between destinations. In many cases, such gaps are actually appreciated by travelers who prefer some unstructured time to explore independently or relax before continuing their journey. That said, we also understand that every traveler has different preferences. For those who prefer more comfort during such intervals, we do offer early check-in or late check-out options for an additional cost, allowing guests to freshen up and unwind before departure. Your suggestion for a dedicated “anchor” place is a great one, and we will definitely take it into account as we continue improving our itineraries. For larger groups, we also provide the option of a full-time guide—another extra feature that can be added upon request. As for the frequent hotel changes, it’s true that in order to visit over ten cities, as well as towns and villages, within just 14 days, regular travel is necessary. However, we understand that a slower pace might be more enjoyable for some. That’s why we’re currently developing alternative versions of this trip: one more relaxed itinerary spanning 20+ days, and others focusing on just 2–3 countries, allowing for deeper immersion and less frequent movement. Once again, thank you for your insights and for traveling with us. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for another adventure, whether it's a slower-paced journey or a focused trip through one or two countries.
