The long journey from Hanoi was also unnecessarily interrupted for sales events. The organization on the ship was perfect, unfortunately Asian travel groups behaved as if they were alone on the ship. Everything was very noisy. The lower floor of the ship, where there was a spa, could not be used because the smell from the waste tank was so bad that it made us nauseous. For the day trip we were taken from our ship to the excursion ship by an open boat in the rain(!!!). It was wet, cold and took 20 minutes - an absolute imposition. Halong is completely overrated for my taste. A day trip is perfectly adequate as the rocks always look the same for 3 days. I can't recommend it.Show more

She was very responsive and easy to work with. I would definitely recommend doing the 3 day/2 night stay because there are many activities and it would probably feel a bit rushed if you were only on board for 2 days. The staff on the boat were friendly and accommodating. The food was good and our cabins were comfortable. Overall a great few days spent out on the water with some amazing adventures!Show more

She also arranged our transport from Halong Bay to Hanoi at a reasonable price. (Our biggest mistake was not booking with her to get to the bay!) The trip itself was a lot of fun. We were on the Athena Luxury cruise which had the same look and feel as the photos (if not better.) The food and activities were good too. The crew and other travellers on our boat made our trip so memorable. If we were to book again or knew of others travelling to Halong Bay we'd certainly recommend to book with Ivy.
