Itinerary
- Day 1
La Palma
You'll arrive at La Palma airport where an ASI representative meets you at baggage claim. Find your transfer to the hotel in the coach parking area if needed. Once you're settled into your room, meet your hiking guide at the hotel reception at 19:00 to have dinner together and go over what's coming up for the week.

- Day 2
La Palma - South
Head south across the island to explore its volcanic history. You'll visit the Belmaco cave, an ancient dwelling that's now an open-air museum showing how indigenous people lived here long ago. From there, pass by the Volcan de San Antonio cone and hike to Teneguía volcano's southernmost point where a lighthouse has stood for over 100 years. Grab lunch and take a swim in the sea to cool off before heading back.

La Palma - North
Drive inland into northern La Palma's rural landscape where you'll see small gorges and ancient dragon trees dotting the terrain. Stop at a charming rural restaurant for a meal featuring regional specialties and local flavors. The drive itself takes you through some of the island's most peaceful countryside, so it's worth taking time to just look around during the journey.

La Palma - West
Explore the western side with two separate hikes. Start at Caldera de Taburiente National Park where you get views of an enormous crater. Then drive to Tazacorte and walk down an old royal path toward the sea, which gives you a view of the area affected by the 2021 volcanic eruption. Stop for a swim and try fresh fish at a seaside spot. On your way back, visit Tajogaite, Spain's youngest volcano from 2021, to see how volcanic forces completely reshaped the landscape.

- Day 5
La Palma - Roque de los Muchachos
Drive to the island's highest point at over 2,400 meters where the modern observatory sits with 14 domes. This is the most important observatory of its kind in the northern hemisphere. Hike along a high trail with views across the caldera and out to the entire island. You'll see unique rock formations and their colors shift in different light throughout the day.

- Day 6
La Palma - Cubo de la Galga
Travel to the greenest region of La Palma, sometimes called the island's lungs, where laurel trees and heather grow alongside plants from the Tertiary period. Hike through the cool laurel forest in Cubo de la Galga, a UNESCO biosphere reserve. Walk up through the cloud forest to Mirador Somada Alta, then visit the small village of San Andrés and take a walk along the coast to the natural swimming pools at Charco Azul.

La Palma - Santa Cruz
Take a bus to Santa Cruz, the island's historic capital with beautiful Canarian Renaissance architecture throughout. Walk through the main church, old monasteries, market hall, town hall, plazas, narrow alleyways, and ornate balconies that show the city's importance as Europe's third most significant port during the 16th century. Later, climb steeply past old water mills to the Virgen de las Nieves pilgrimage site where lunch is ready. Return by bus afterward for a rest.
